The Dogs were catted a while ago and have gone down the toilet since, I think it's less likely than us beating the Cats last weekend. in 1997 the Dogs beat us in the home and away. From memory, I think Peter Foster shut down Buckets again. He always gave him grief. in 2008 the Dogs beat us in the ho...

Presuming/Assuming we lose/win?

Assuming we lose It would be easier to beat Adelaide than Collingwood but I would rather beat Collingwood and meet Hawthorn in the prelim before an unexpected success in a rematch with the Cats. Assuming we win hmmm, don't give a rat's, but suspect it would be the 'Orks in the prelim, then nigh on i...

Re: Geelong and Gerard Whateley getting too arrogant.

[quote="perfectionist"]Gerard Whateley on ABC radio as good as said the flag should be given to Geelong now. He has never managed to hide his bias in the past, making him a very poor replacement for Tim Lane,

Tim Lane managed to hide his bias???

Not when he covered Carlton games.

I think Johnson the key.

There's plenty of other options they have with scoring midfielders too.

I hope the boys play their best. In our first match we were killing them but kicked 4.7 to 4 straight and then died in the a*se.

I agree with Animal, Sean Dempster is a huge loss. Fingers crossed we can cover for him. The backline has been consistently brilliant in the second half of the season.

What about L Fisher to run with Johnston? Clutching at straws and hoping for a cracker next Sundee.

Agreed, put it back on the Target remainder rack where it belongs.

It's one thing to lose after being so ordinary, but to be ashamed of the jumper the team plays in is too galling.

I disagree with the tactic Lyon employs in the vast majority of games, adopting the corralling, damage-limitation style. We have conceded so many unassailable leads this way. It's like it's an over-reaction to our first spanking by the Bulldogs. It's not enough to use GT's Saintskrieg, which was sus...

Under this coach, we accord every opponent too much respect. Therefore we corral and have men behind the ball. When we go on the attack, we blitz the weaker teams. The better teams have learned to handle that strategy. Too many people believed the press at the beginning of the season, without consid...

All credit to the boys for coming back from a deficit. The kangas looked rooted after their win v the 'Orks last week.

Too many goddamn passengers.

Who's responsible for our skills? I know Barker is the forward coach.

Ross Lyon's game plan -

What a genius coach!

Straight back in the guts, Bakes. Pick up a Burgoyne or Kane Cornes.
I, we, and your teammates have missed you Stevie Baker.

Milne, great effort

OK, he stuffed up twice in the 3rd. Q, one of those was because there was no-one to go to, but I thought an excellent effort.

In ice hockey it's called fore-checking and I thought throughout he played a good team game.

at the risk of repeating myself... If they could teach Stewart Loewe to kick, it's beyond me why these guys can't learn. Buckets ended up very reliable. I cringe every time Roo or Milne has a set shot. Kosi seems to have got his mojo back but not enough possessions. None of our midfielders can kick ...

There has been no suggestion I have read here or elsewhere which explains it definitively. Definitively, we fell asleep, and the dogs went man on man and beat us at every contest. No they didn't go man on man. They smashed us in the guts then ran away from us. But that still doesn't explain the fad...

a fine balanced post MSG. I fundamentally agree with your ratings but would elevate Bakes into the low Bs NDS could not possibly rate a B on what he has shown this year. Pardon me. i quote 'We knew they would come out and do what they did' One question, why would you worry about them when we played out best football since at least 2004. We looked fabulous in the first quarter because the Dogs looked like they had polio. When they came back at us, we folded like a de...

Re: Coach?

Can we really consider Ross a coach for the future? He said he has spent, i quote, 'hours', on out new game plan. Sure we looked really good in the first quarter, but after that it was as if the whole team changed, g-train looked out, the mid feild look out of touch and the back line was suffering ...
