Re: Match Thread Saints vs Dees

1. Sloppy and indifferent first quarter. 2. Inaccuracy has slaughtered our season - today included. 3. A positive sign of coaching to get us back in the game. 4. Endeavour was shown but we looked a little mystified the MCG was so big ! 5. Last Qtr - the wheels fell off, not sure why - but basic erro...

Re: Billy Cost Us The Game

Billy was very good today! Kicked when he should, attacked the pack, hand balled etc. No problems. Very good last quarter.

Re: Match Thread Saints v Port Round 19 2017

We will never win in Adelaide by asking for free kicks. Never happened, never will. We are playing better than them, but what a shitty game. Can we just kick straight in second half, please? And get a forward coach!

Like, have we seriously never won in Adelaide? That is shameful. Today is a big opportunity! Come on Saints.

Re: Match Thread Saints v Swans Round 18 2017

Two weeks ago - I was totally in support of where we were going and in the coaching staff - now I feel just like I did after the melbourne game - wondering why I feel like it is 1981?

Re: Match Thread Saints v Swans Round 18 2017

Billings is an absolute front-runner - any pressure and he turns to water - 2 kicks and almost half time - AGAIN

Re: Match Thread Saints v Swans Round 18 2017

We look so small - and I thought we looked that way last week - but when I checked against Essendon we were just as old and just as big! I think it is something to do with ENDEAVOUR ... run at the player - don't just wave your arms around at them .... Roo is really struggling this last couple of wee...

Re: Match Thread Saints v Bombers Round 17 2017

The coach gave us nothing tonight at all - not a whimper. Hickey no good, poor selections all round and no energy or commitment from anyone. And now we lose by more than we won by? Unbelievable 130 point turn around

Re: Goalkicking coach

A highly emotionally charged reason - allowed us to play at potential - now we are back to waffle - not consistently good enough in the goal kicking department.

Re: Match Thread Saints v Bombers Round 17 2017

Probably the weak, pathetic and soft marshamallow kicks for goal from set shots is the most disappointing thing tonight. I would like to say something positive ... my mind comes up with a blank.

Re: Is Ross now our best player?

Harvey did a lot of the stop-start stuff - a little similar! Best by far this year. When we are going crap I wonder where Seb is - why he is on the bench etc.. Him and Jack S. Jack is still doing as well IMO but with more attention, so the lifting of the others is vital for us. Seb is such a core pl...

Re: Match Thread Saints v Dockers Round 15 2017

That was a great win at the end of the day - and what a freakin' roller-coaster. I thought the wheels fell of a couple of times and thought Billings really could not hit any targets for a quarter or so (although he was getting possessions), and Mav just was not present. But didn't Steele, Stevens an...

Re: Match Thread Saints v Dockers Round 15 2017

WRT the coaching, slam it forward is the method. Some players are marginal at best. Dunstan very average midfielder with one great move forward. Lonie not strong. Even billings looked scared to kick for goal, the opposition look confident in front. Definitely something poor with our coaching

Re: Match Thread Saints v Dockers Round 15 2017

dismal first quarter, forget the frees to them, we have let goals roll through to them, we could not hit the side of a barn. Bombing it forward. Pick one of these things and fix it. The endeavour is there.

We are very average. However, having said that - there are about 12 "average" teams this year and we are one of them. Like many on here I have been waiting for us to "click". At around this time last year the Dogs started to click and ended up winning the flag from 7th!! Where ar...

Re: Tributes to Lenny here - we will send him a SS tribute b

Looking back, I think it was Round 3 against West Coast in 2000 or so, when I was asking myself whether you, Lenny Hayes, actually was deserving of the number 7 worn by greats and personal favourites Nicky Winmar and Stuart Trott. I was in my reserve seat on the wing, at "Telstra" with my ...
