I'm opposed to a night grand final. The afternoon creates an opportunity for a family and friends get together to watch the game and then you can go out and celebrate or commiserate whatever the result. Also, for the players it would be tougher than the current arrangement. Waiting all day, you can'...

IMO Gardiner will just replace Hamill.....he'll be a chance to play for the Scorps nearly every week, pull out at the last minute because something is not quite right, play the odd game or two, pull up sore, and deliver at best 2 games in the seniors for us in 2008. Please dig up this post in a yea...

If true, am completely unsurprised. Hasn't had any real impact at AFL level for four years and was a GOP with limited skills at Claremont. Grasping at straws to ever have considered him a solution to our rucking issues. If it's not true and he's not retiring, then I still think the same thing. Will ...

Don't worry Dees - you're facilities were not considered suitable for his holiness. Didn't like the idea of training on different grounds for goodness sakes!!?? Perhaps his holiness would like to play footy on cloud 9 all next year lest he might hurt his widdle weggies.. Sheesh, this guy's arroganc...

Re: Old Hailebury old Saints
Jamie Shanahan to coach Old Hailebury in the B grade ammos next year. Tony Brown Matty Lappin to play. Loewie having a year off but could play the following year and there is a big chance Joel Smith will also play. And Vossy may be playing as well. Sauce Plugger? I played for Old Haileybury in the ...

Went with my brother. We were very confident. We were sitting next to a big group of Crows supporters and were taunting them about having no history or tradition. When the Saints came out Steve and I sung the song with as much force as we could. I remember that because we're both terrible singers. L...

So does this mean that Aaron has retired or the club has made him retire? I'm still not clear. Is it that he hasn't chosen to retire but we have been able to advance some of next year's payment into this year, freeing up that much money in next year's cap? Is that right? He hasn't actually chosen t...

On field for 2008 Hamill is not a big loss in fact, he isn't a loss at all he was great a couple years ago, but his retiring hasn't cost us anything but the hope that he may some day return i Completely agree with that Carn Sainter. Have only lost the hope that he'd play again, which for me wasn't ...

I think clement is choosing to retire, therefore he gives up his entitlement to the 400k. Voss was still on the lions list this year as his contract was backloaded, therefore it would be unfair for him to give up $$$ as the payments relate to earlier years. I dont think Hamill wants to give up the ...

Can somebody once and for all clear this up?
Below is an excerpt from an article in today's Australian by Greg Denham about the retirement of James Clement. "Clement is understood to have forgone almost $400,000 in 2008 -- the final year of his contract -- to quit the game after 12 seasons. As well, the likely retirement of Paul Lucuria -...

I don't know if I could do it. It would depend on the relationship with the other person. That's a really lovely gesture on your mate's behalf. If it was to make my grandpa or another really close mentor who's been a life long Sainter happy, then I probably could do it. Then I'd be seriously looking...
