Re: Tip & margin for GWS game
Saints by 197. I think we’ll ease up in the last quarter which will cost us. We’ll rest a few players towards the end too. Might only have 14 on the field by the final siren.

Re: Roo on why the saints aren't there yet.
I remember in 93 Kevin Sheedy saying the Bombers were building a very good side but were a couple of years away from being a contender. They won it that year. Who thought at the beginning of 2016 that Bulldogs were ready to win a flag? Or Richmond in 2017? No team has the perfect list. We should mak...

Re: Not good news. for non members.
I may be adding 1 and 1 and coming up with 3, but I think the plan may be for home team members and MCC/AFL/Marvel Stadium members only at matches in 2021 otherwise the ratios of attendees at matches will be difficult to police. As the vaccines are not going to be rolled out in huge numbers until a...

Re: Saints unlikely to redraft Paddy
Actually, I would have said that 99.99% would have taken Petracca, given that our team WAS SCREAMING OUT FOR A MIDFIELDER, DESPERATELY, but I agree with your point! I'm not so sure. This was our round 20 team from 2013. Tim Lee full forward? B: D.Roberton, J.Blake, S.Dempster HB: J.Geary, J.Gwilt, ...

Re: Saints unlikely to redraft Paddy
Melbourne would have taken McCartin at 2 if we'd picked Peteacca. I don't think that's correct. They had Jesse Hogan (traded for the pick to get him the year before) already and no way would they have taken another key forward. They wanted mids and couldn't get the words Christian Petracca out quic...

Re: News - Seeing it differently: Inside the Saints’ draft plans
Looking at his game history he seemed quite injury prone towards the end The game he kicked 5 was a loss against the Dopers in 1990 - he also had 25 possessions My standout Bowey moment was Round 4 against the Hawks in 1992 where jumped out to a 8 goal lead in the 1st quarter only to be pegged back...

Re: Dearth of talls
With the rule changes in regard to reducing interchanges, I think teams will want less talls and more mids who can run all day, so it shouldn’t be that much of an issue.

St Kilda: Jonathon Marsh has been delisted https://www.saints.com.au/news/837414/saints-confirm-additional-list-change I hope this a move to the rookie list and not a real "your career at the saints is over." It would be disgusting if that were the case but Joyce and McKenzie are protecte...

The same source had a bit of info about Dunkley and his manager not being happy with the Bombers too. You'd hope it will help to make us an attractive desfination for players wanting a move.

Re: Pick 21
I’d be more interested in getting more future picks. If clubs only take one player this year it should mean that next years pool is deeper. Have to make sure we have at least a full complement of picks in 2021.

I saw an Adelaide one with Crouch on it. It would happen across the board. Calendars need to be prepared early so it not that uncommon.

Re: List Size is 37, Cap down around 10%
Crazy timing. Gives the clubs bugger all time to reduce contracts. And for the AFL to leave it up to the clubs is asking for trouble.
In the bright side, good luck to the Pies trying to get everyone to take a pay cut.

Re: The Caldwell conundrum
Not quite understanding the over the top enthusiasm for Caldwell. Anyone would think he is an A grade world beater. Reality check. Played a total of 11 AFL games. Was not a regular in the Giants best 18. Has potential, is the most you could say about him. Maybe potential. If we get Higgins to go wi...

Great OP. I was looking forward to this year, not knowing what we could do but expecting improvement. Now I can’t wait for next season to start. Haven’t wanted round one to come this much for 10 years. The sky’s the limit!

Re: Fake News
They are still hopeful of getting Treloar over on BF, but unless we off load 3 or 4 players eg Dunstwn, Webster, Roberton we are no chance. The only way I would want him then, if Gallagher was able to renegotiate his contract. I’d rather leave it at Crouch for this year. Allows us to give Clark and...

Re: The Caldwell conundrum
I just wonder how many deals Essendon will get done. Last year they couldn’t even do one, while we picked up five players. There’s probably a lot of other deals that will have to wait for Essendon to do something. It might be a good year to sit back and see if anyone is desperate enough to do what H...

Re: Hamstring Awareness
Anyway... my point is: Hannebery, Jones, Crouch, Treloar if we get them: give them a week off every three 3-4 weeks and let them focus that time specifically on rehabbing and doing the things they need to do to remain injury free IMO we’re just too reactive... playing players until they inevitabili...
