Re: VFL Rd 1 Sandy vs Bombers

I was at the game and Paddy was good without being outstanding. He worked hard, looked good pushing further up the ground. Caused a couple of goals by getting a hand to balls as Essendon switched play. I was hoping and believe also that he should dominate at VFL level, was opposed to Michael Harrley...

Re: Aftermath

A win against the Lions on our own dung heap wont change anything. The games v Geelong and Hawks will be the true testers. Must win at least one. Going on years of history, St K is the team that runs other teams into form. Hawks not good at the moment, but they'll gel against us and play awesome. C...

Thought I read that Minchington broke his thumb last week.

Not ideal Sandy not playing this weekend, hope those not playing seniors had a decent training run.

Re: For what it's worth

I suppose if you look hard enough you can see or find what you need to excuse that I'll just go with what's obvious We were smashed by a better team Should be no excuses for that performance but what were the reasons why it happened? Think Tony touched on a couple of reasons as to why. For me we ha...

Re: For what it's worth

Thanks for be input Tony. Agree about Hickey and Gawn and Rhys we were out coached. The concern for me was that there was no plan B and also our midfielders looked like they could not run. Why we allowed Nelbourne to start with seven or eight backs and we started with four or five forwards has me st...

Re: Roo's knee. Is this the end?

I also fear or expect the worst. Not uncommon for strong quads to stabilise the knee in these situations, but the minute there is weight bearing and any change of direction it will be gone. The pop agonising pain and then lack of pain is classic ACL, will be hoping I am greatly wrong but Lenny manag...

Yes you are right Petracca tripped over his own ego and did a knee and Watts has been hospitalised due to the trauma of being scared of his own shadow.

They were mad Hawthorn supporters, think his dad played under 19's for them.

Have a connection with his family, and they definitely did not follow ST kilda.

Re: Match Thread v Swans JLT Round 3

Have never seen a side get run down more and not dispose of the ball correctly than the Swans last year at Ethiad and tonight.

Yet they don't get pinged.

Need to lower the eyes and hit targets.

Pressure good but ball usage poor, can't bomb against Swans

Re: Sandy vs Willliamstown

Ventured down to watch the game, my observations were as follows. Acres was everywhere is a class above this level, held onto the ball a few times due to no options further afield. kicking a bit hit and miss when in heavy traffic . But he is just a beast in the contest and at clearances , worked har...

Re: Hickey or Longer?

I think Hickey is the better all round player, but no one should get a game based on last season. So long as they are fit and have done the work in the off-season, what better basis for selection than runs on the board at the highest level? No problem with runs on the board when there is little or ...

Re: Hickey or Longer?

I think Hickey is the better all round player, but no one should get a game based on last season. Thought Hickey was bordering on embarrassing against Port, looked like he had no idea in the last quarter in the ruck contests, would love an ITK thoughts on if he his is carrying something as he did no...

Re: Picks 23 and 36

I am quite interested in Cedric Cox. Looks like a young Andrew McLeod. http://www.richmondfc.com.au/video/2016-10-24/draft-prospect-cedric-cox-jrz Have been re watching the All star under 18 game, and in the first quarter he hits one pass on his right and one pass on his left and the way he moved a...

Re: Jake Barrett delisted from GWS

Saw a fair few Sandy games this year and Pierce was better than both Longer and Holmes in all of them.

Reckon he is tracking along okay for a big guy, improved heaps this year.

Not sure I know why such love for Barrett, Templeton is a better footballer and we just got rid of him.

One of our best ever, always gave a 100%.

He was the protocol intercept marking rebounding defender, turned down big money to join GWS, a true St Kilda legend.

Thanks for the memories.

Re: Cam O'Shea

I was told before the last game of the season that O' Sheas manager had approached us and that he was not a priority. This was from an ITK. Maybe the club have decided that he would be better value than pick 61 on the list. Personally i do not see a need for him, he has a huge motor so maybe he coul...
