Re: Unfulfilled talent over the past 60 years
Somehow I dont think Luke Ball would put himself into this category. He might think he had 22 mates at the Saints who should be though. He didn't fulfil his potential while at the Saints (which is the essence of the thread). He was cruelled by OP over his last few seasons with us - as I think one c...

Paul Callery was one of my faves growing up. Always hard at it from memory. Only 165cm. I note in 1974 he had a 41 possession game against South Melbourne, and kicked 4 goals.

Re: Lethlean going to Saints?!
I didn't follow what he is alleged to have done, but as far as I am aware it didn't involve sexual assault, unwanted advances, inappropriate use of power/authority, etc (if it did then feel free to set me straight). A good administrator can be as important long term to a club as a high draft pick, s...

Is he behind the recruitment of all these flakey rejects and older players at Port Adelaide though? Or is that coming from Koch or Hinkley?

I was bullish about Lamb in his draft year, but we have to be careful not to let sentimentality pull the wool over our eyes.

Scott Waters had a special talent for alienating people. The club did the wrong thing selecting him in the first place. The decision to sack him was ruthless, but entirely justified and necessary. Another year of him and the club may have imploded. Like his former colleague, Mark Neeld. A divisive ...

We got two second round picks (Long and Battle) from that deal as well - so how was it not a good deal?Con Gorozidis wrote:Bains didn't do anything last year.
Hawks were desperate for JOM and needed out pick 10 to get him.
Bains just had to sit there.
If the Hawks finished top 4 then it wouldn't have been a good deal.

Do you get the feeling that really trivial footy can win the flag now? When I think back on the the talent SK had both under Grant Thomas and Lyin, it would overcome what the Tiggers brought today. It really offends me that our talent AND effort went unrewarded. I have painful memories of flying fr...
