Re: retreads not the way to go.......frawley...
" FORMER Richmond coach Danny Frawley says St Kilda has made the same costly list management mistake he did when he over-rated his side in 2001. St Kilda this year topped up its list with four recycled players in a bid for its second premiership. Yet after nine rounds the Saints are struggling...

How much influence do you think the board may have had in selection of quick-fix players to get the team to the finals this year? Lets face it, throw a good ruckman into the St Kilda of late last year and we were looking pretty good. We already had Gardiner on board, but what if he didn't come up? G...

Gawd...another tired old 'get rid of the coach' thread...shame I can't lock 'em, coz they're a waste of space. Join one of the other 20 going around, or read the 'List Cloggers' thread and ponder that one for a while. RL getting the flick...not likely...Kosi and Dal traded, also not likely. Get ove...

Anyone know Roo's career and season conversion rates? Whilst I'm more interested in his positioning, I'm interested in seeing if I'm right about his goal kicking. Certainly, just watching him proves I'm pretty close to the mark in describing him as aweful, but I'd be interested to see if stats prove...

Well, if Roo's in good nick ('scuse the pun), he'd be great on the wing, allowing us to apply some of that forward pressure...imagine how an opposition back would feel kicking it back out to a contest with Roo out there and Milney cashing him down!?! Fill the gap on the forward line with Armo, Ferg ...

Yep...totally agree. The only reliable mark and kick we had up forward was Fraser, but he wasn't up to it (despite being 'framed' by some atrocious kicking to him). Kosi is good, Milney 50/50, Roo is average, Schnieds and Gardiner invisible. But don't forget, there's also no forward 50 pressure bein...

The miss on Sunday was a shocker. Unforutunately, it was also typical. He's a very very worthy competitor, great for the team, but a disaster on two legs up front. Play him off the wing to get his confidence back, and a kicking coach would be nice. Good luck getting Plugger back to St Kilda in any ...

Yes, that's an interesting point...but why would you replace an FF who's just kicked 4 goals against Brissy, with someone who's essentially untried? Sure, BJ's popped up and kicked the occasional goal, and he's a great kick, but I wonder if he didn't just catch opposition players out by simply being...

Well, if he converted more than about 30%, I'd agree. But, he is by far the worst shot at goal I've ever seen. We sorted Stewie Leowe out, so I'm sure a good kicking coach will help Roo too. In the meanwhile, we've got some good forwards waiting for some match time, Roo is an awesome mark and big ru...

Assuming he improves during the week, that is.plugger66 wrote:If he only 80% fit he can only play forward.degruch wrote:Since he's only about 80% and a terrible kick at goal, would you play Roo on the wing and place someone like Allen at CHF? Kosi at CHF?
Have we played him on the wing before?

Anyone remember in mid-2003, when Chocco shrugged his shoulders at a post match press conferance after a sizeable defeat and said, 'Well, at least it wasn't as bad as last week'. I LMAO and thought what a loser he was...then a couple weeks later, Port's soft performances turned around and they finis...

I see RL as another Peter Rhode (ex Bulldogs coach) - a good assistant, good bloke, good player, but couldn't do the big job. I think a change is needed as rogerfox says. Stop the rot, nip it in the bud. yeah. as i said in another post. RL is good on bass guitar. but not quite lead singer. Hey! I p...

Oh, so there's history! Well, never mind...I'm sorry to say that I reckon Tef might be right...it's GT's soft players RL has got to work with! Maybe the bedlam we've got now is a result of what happens when you remove a megalomanic from the helm!?! GT's downfall was player management...he was too i...
