Re: Funding Colorado

Bought one too. I think they said they had 300 tickets to sell and at $200 each that is a fair amount of money and I would think a lot more than what's needed for a Colarado exercise. Anyway good luck to them if they sell them all. I just want to win the bloody thing.

Re: Development Director

My guess (and it is a guess) is that the Club has someone in mind from the interviews they completed earlier this year but the one they wanted isn't available until after this season/end of year. As an example, if the Club was looking at the current coach of Port Melb but he was committed to coachin...

Re: Roo where is he really at as a player now?

Totally agree Wallbanger re: delivery. It's been an ongoing problem for us particularly as the game has evolved and I saw it mentioned on another thread where they said that when Pelchen and the coaches reboot the list delivery skills has got to be on top or near to the top of the list. As far as Ro...

Re: Roo where is he really at as a player now?

I thought I would put my 2 bobs worth in on Roo. He cannot play the highly mobile running game that he built his reputation on any more and we shouldn't expect him to be able to do it. From my observations he hasn't been able to play at that top level since the major hamstring injury and he seems to...

Re: Beyond Freo

A couple of points from the original post. Agree with your disposal comment but wasn't just shooting for goal. Our ability to hit targets particularly when presses were on I rated as average. We lost the ball too often at critical stages through poor disposal and I am not just referring to the young...

Re: 66 premiership player Allan Davis Chats with the coodabe

Alan Davis was a difficult player to follow. He certainly had a heap of skill. Looked as though he had all the time in the world (in slow motion) when he had the ball as he was one or two steps ahead of the opponent although for someone with his talent he didn't do it often enough. He was an excepti...

Re: The ULTIMATE trivia post!!!

As you have gone that far back ie WW1 I'll put up a question. Which club in the WAFL did Verdun Howell want to be cleared to and which club in the WAFL did he end up playing for?

My father took me to my first saints game when I was about 6. The game was at the Junction Oval against Melbourne and we just lost. In his younger days (a lot younger) my father played with Stkilda Colts (the U19 forerunner) with people like Keith Rosewarne and Alan Olle and he told me they used to ...

A real talent that Saints never got the benefit of. So much potential until I think he got an injury that either he or the club couldn't get right and ended up at R'mond (maybe).Didn't play many games there though

No 21 - Again going from memory which is fading by the day as an alternative to Jim Read. Barry Pascoe and maybe Russell Reynolds (from WA). He should have stayed with the Saints longer than he did.

In addition to a Leigh Matthews type, a workplace psychologist and experienced headhunter would also be well worthwhile. The current Coaching panel looks very light on for "people/management" skills to me. With large football departments today, coaching is very much about people/management...

problem with Peake was he was awful when it really mattered.. 2 weeks in a row In an earlier post I said that the Club rolled the dice with Peake to try and introduce pace. IMO it hasn't worked. He is OK running on his terms in space but he is inconsistent, his delivery by foot is average at best, ...

[quote="dcstkfc"]Peake has been OK. IMO Peake has not been OK. He's OK running in space but he's an inconsistent performer. His disposal by foot is below par, he makes poor decisions when the pressures on in the crushes and I have now seen enough of his finals performances to say he's had ...

Well im certainly in no mood to be bagging any players. And Mini does play the (extrmely negating) role given to him to a high standard. What I will question is the importance of that role. In other words mini is good at that role, but has that role become semi-redundant? I think the coaching staff ...
