Re: 2014 List Management - Draft & Trade Discussion

I really don't want us to give away the #1 pick in a trade unless we get something unbelievable. Petracca is a must unless you get someone of the calibre of Shiel and a top 10 pick.

So #1 is a keeper for mine.

Re: 2014 List Management - Draft & Trade Discussion

Just on McKenzie - After watching Hawkins last night I like the idea of a big bodied forward that can bring you back in the game through brute strength. Hawkins absolutely rag dolled Thompson in that last quarter in a matter of about 5 minutes to bring them back into the game. On Armo - I absolutely...

Re: 2014 List Management - Draft & Trade Discussion

I'd be looking at trading Armo and pick 21 to Melb for pick 3. Get Petracca and McCartin in one go. Keep Joey so leadership group is Roo, Joey, Steven, Dempster, Fisher, Geary and perhaps keep Schneids. Give Petracca no 8 and McCartin no 4. Trading Armo would be too big a kick in the guts. (For me ...

Re: Positive from the year...

When an entire rookie list gets elevated it tells me something must right in our development coaching and selection

A coach that seems grounded, respected and speaks without hyperbole

Relatively speaking all of our drafted and traded players showed something

Re: Minchington

I think you have to take into account that Richo is playing teams/players and structures to see what players have got and or what their potential is. When Minch got dropped at the later end of the season I think he was showing quite a bit - it was more about seeing others before the year was out.

Re: Eli in 2014 - upgrade or rookie?

Why put him on the rookie list when you know the coaches are going to want to play him every week?

Who's spot is he taking?

I'd upgrade in a second. One of the best and most exciting raw talents on our list.

Re: Who will get from other clubs(players and picks) ?

I would imagine GWS would have to offer Sam something reasonable in the way of pay to get him to go there. If he were to go you'd be thinking it would likely be for coin to round off the career. From what I've heard Fisher is financially and socially set up in Melbourne and wouldn't entertain a tra...

Calling them cheats is incorrect....calling them incompetent is more accurate.

FA in 2016 when Roo is likely (but not certain) to be going. By then we should have recruited nearly 50% of GWS's list - according to some.

Re: longer

From all reports in the vfl Pierce is more likely to kick goals than Longer. The coaching panel may take a punt on him if Stanley has done a hammy. Longer will certainly need back up against Jacobs but they may opt for Spencer taking a few short stints in the ruck..He took a few hit outs against Ric...

As soon as we start asking for peer reviewed articles here I think we're beyond the remit of the unsubstantiated know-it-all blathering's of internet discussion boards. But there is one journal worth quoting: The International Journal of Common Sense. The problem with common sense is its not so com...

the thing that worried me the most to night was the thought that we weren't tanking...we still have a long way to go. Our defence is terrible..as Healy said at one stage "Rubbish" Fisher won't be around much longer but really like Dempster. Shenton was every where tonight ... still want h...

Maybe a little simplistic but shouldn't you be on the bottom of the ladder if you are asking fro a PP? Yes I know years of torment, ffs harden up, stop sooking and get your players to buy shares in Paul Roos inc.

SO Lenny Hayes has retired  For mine Dempster has probably been our most solid back and we need him. Stays We have a combination of Bruce, Gibert, Simpkin, Webster, Roberton, Geary, Delney, Wright, Savage, Newnes to name a few. I think we need to keep at least one of Gwilt or Fisher for one mo...
