The scintillating wisdom from our pundit class this week went something like this:
"Geelong and GWS are the best teams in it ... North and Hawthorn are really struggling."
Grown men get paid hundred of thousands for insights like this.

Re: Comparing our Outs to other teams
As well as these significant outs, a proper analysis of our season so far would note the punishing, not to say bizarre, draw we've endured. I'm not even talking about the interstate travel and the five-day breaks. I'm talking the total absence of any home-ground advantage. After "hosting" ...

Re: Higgins Alir incident
Would have thought Higgo's history of head imjuries would make him the last bloke to want to inflict cerebral damage.
Michael Christian however was knocked senseless by Danny Frawley twice (once in the Nicky Wimnar jumper game) and, notwithstanding that, seems to possess a long memory.

No good bloke clause for Higgins because he wears a St Kilda jumper.

David King called out Seb Ross ... claimed he's ineffectual and the stats prove it. Said a hard call needs to be made.

I think Sharman is worth perssiting with. Not sure why our most accurate kick (and a decent mark) is being played so far from goal. Would like to see Arie as well.

Don't agree with the OP but I do know then when King was lining up for goal I thought, "There's no way this is going through." King's body language was part of that.

Re: Match Thread Saints v Giants Round 5 2024thr same
The same supporters who go don’t bag out the players think it’s wrong to get a Tarryn Thomas or a Jordan De Goey. If you want to FKN win a premiership you be ruthless. Hardwick DROPPED 9 players last week. He’s a 3 time premiership coach. You don’t see him cuddling the spuds for a bad game. You eit...

Dropped by the Dogs this week.
Seeing our recruiting geniuses talked him up bigtime pre-draft only to inexplicably select Lonie instead, maybe we can belatedy get him to the Saints?

Re: Can we?
We beat Port in 2020, albeit with the most accurate winning score in history.
One of the oddities of our draw this year is that we have no home-ground-advantage game until Fremantle in Round 10 (other Marvel games are against fellow Marvel-based teams). Compare to any other team.

Re: Crab watch
Actually St Kilda's worst-ever first round pick was Michael Frost. Played one good game for the Bulldogs, which happened to be against the Saints, and so on a hunch (or Stan Alves' gut-feeling) we gave up our first-round pick for him. It was such a manifest disaster, however, that we learned our les...

But doesn't get you a flag unless your timing is just right.

Re: Bonner
Bonner's 17 turnoivers is apparently the worst recorded by a player since 2012. Weirdly, the club sold him to us as a precision kick.
If Brad Scott's plan was to stifle Nas and free up Bonner to turn the ball over, he knows moire about Bonner than the Saints brains trust does.

Remembering David Mackay cleaning up Hunter Clark -- no suspension.

Fraser Gehrig's Tummy Tap
With Pendlebury's gut punch roundly being dismissed by our esteemed pundits, anyone remember the one-match ban (downgraded from two weeks) copped by the G-train, then at the ehight of his powers, for giving Jason Cloke a "tummy tap"? And that was nearly 20 years ago.

Re: The candy stripe returns
We're lucky at the Saints to have (a) a great home guernsey; (b) a great away guernsey; and (c) great alternative away guernseys (though I much prefer the candy stripes to the crusader cross and the German flag).
Compare that to the generally bland and/or hideous away guernseys of other clubs.

Forgive me for sniffing the raw stench of hypocrisy again. Now Webster was stupid and deserves to be rubbed out. But it wasn't long ago that Thug Maynard ironed out Brayshaw in a career-ending act and got ... absolutely no penalty. Now the same geniuses who claimed that was "a defensive action&...
