Re: Butters comes clean-- Article 12/10
Saw him on Friday at a cafe ironically. Got pissed with him in Adelaide at the start of his journey when we were building our team in the early 2000s. A nice man socially, always had time to talk. Out of the box thinker who has shown that in his business and his time at the Saints. Disappointed he a...

Re: Potential Quartet for 2017 finals and beyond
Its early days but that quartet along with potentially Acres and Ross ( who I left out), Armitage, Curran and Saunders is a decent mid field for mine.
I am quite bullish if Petracca ends up A Grade.

Potential Quartet for 2017 finals and beyond
Petracca, Dunstan, Billings and Stevens supported by Armitage, Curran, Saunders and co.
That's a handy mid field that has grunt, class and pace.
What are your thoughts?

Re: RIP Robbie Flower
Avid, he told me Carl Ditterich who was playing for Melbourne at the time was going to murder Muir and it was one of the few times in Muir ' s career he feared for his life. Big Carl was baying for his blood. A low act against a champion ball player.

Re: RIP Robbie Flower
I met Robboe about 8 years ago & I always loved him as a player, one of my favourites & alongside Keith Grieg the best wingman I ever saw. He was a ripper bloke, a gentlemen. He told me some great stories that day: having his jaw broken by Robbie Muir; interstate trips with Trevor Barker who...

Re: Remember where you where 31 August 1997?
Joel Smith we lost against Collingwood at the MCG at Round 18. He was a big loss, an incredibly smart, classy footballer who was doing amazing things on the half Forward flank that year. Richard Osborne fell on his hyper extended knee & that was the last time he ever wore a Saints jumper. Ofcour...

Re: Who has stepped up? Who hasn't
Yep agree with the assessment. Pretty spot on with the list, its now making the decisions which is the hard part. Who stays & who goes. Jones & Gwilt already announced. Hayes & Maister retired. Milera going home. That's 5 spaces already.

Wow, what a number!!
No 7 is a revered number & Dunstan will fill it well.
Receiving that number from a man like Lenny Hayes must resonate with the young man, what responsibility?!!

Re: game and season vent/washup
Very Good assessment overall, agree with evo that Curren, Ross, Siposs & Shenton still are work in progress to be considered long term options. My gut feel is Ross will make it if he works his butt off & I saw some signs that Siposs may be understanding what it takes to make it, if he gets a...

Re: Gwilt and Jones delisted
Not surprising, Gwilt has been poor for 2 to 3 seasons now & CJ has had his time.
Great contributors both of them, well done.
We look forward to the next era, such is football & life.

Re: Seb Ross
My Gut feel is this boy will make it. Not everyone was born a Chris Judd and his running speed & endurance plus natural adaption to the game overall will improve from games 25 to 50. He has general football ability & smarts, I think he will be given the time. Think about the young players th...

Bruce is a very good athlete and happy with him. Delaney is big and strong and has a decent leap. These 2 have changed our back line considerably already and Fisher is to come in also.

Re: Webster is a beauty!!
I was told by someone in the football department that Siposs was given a rocket at the start of the season for not working hard enough. His tyres were pumped up way too far, he has some ability & he will need to work as hard as the others if he wants to make it. I hope he can turn it around. Seb...

Webster is a beauty!!
Billings & Dunstan have been well documented. They both look super players but this boy Webster can really play. What an athlete!! Straight line speed, cat like rebounding ability on second efforts, good judgement, nice dependable kick & how about that passage of play at the end when Bombers...
