Re: The Seb Ross discussions
It’s a balancing act with TPP if you have a 21-22 year old that can play at the same level as a 28 yo for half the money you have to make some big decisions. By end of 2021 we will know more of Bytels level as a player as Seb Ross comes out of contract as an RFA. I think it’s 50/50 for Ross to resig...

Re: The Seb Ross discussions
Sen Ross had a correction on his level and talent this year after a more exalted status in poor teams. If he is on the money we have been told 700 k + then he is over paid and will need to temper his salary expectations as we renegotiate several future and rising stars’ salaries to stay at St kilda....

Re: Young guns who can take the next step
The 2 question marks I have on Bytel are his decision making and his lack of professionalism on the training track. What utter crap.    Have to agree with Saynta on this one that’s not the intel I have heard about Bytel.. He is known to be meticulous in his training and pro...

Re: How good are these players? Fair dinkum!
Paton's speed is underestimated. Once he gains confidence he will start to take players on. It's the same with Coffield. That are both very quick across the ground. Josh Battle is another who has huge improvement in him. He's still very young. With some added strength he will be a handful for oppon...

Re: Carlisle re-signs (Tom Browne; Tom Browne ...)
I will also say that once Higgins is over the line we will turn our attention to Treloar as I mentioned in another post. He hasn't nominated us because we don't know if we can fit him in. If the Bulldogs take Lonie and Essendon take Hind, then all we would need to do is find a home for Webster........

Re: Kudos to St Kilda FC
Peter Summers gets big ticks for the relocation back to Moorabbin and the renegotiation of the Etihad stadium deal under his management but the football side didn’t go to plan. Nevertheless under his watch he set a strong foundation for the next step and that was to nail the football department whic...

My opinion on Dunstan is well documented for his own sake he needs to go and get a game he cant afford another year not playing. Lets hope for all concerned someone wants him.

Re: Massive Day - Crouch and winning Battles
thats what Longy is for .... at pace , shoulder tucked in coz he enjoys doing it Longy is light framed and got rubbed out twice this season. You need "enforcers" 2020 version which is very limited compared to the old days. Big bodies strong tough guys that can physically influence contest...

Massive Day - Crouch and winning Battles
What a massive day yesterday as the free western world was focusing on the US elections Saints fans were grinning ear to ear at 5 pm with the news we picked up Brad Crouch for free as the Crows didn't match the offer. Put into perspective what we had to offer to get Brad Hill over the line. In isola...

Re: Jack Higgins
Is the best argument for JH that he is thought to possibly be "better" than Jack Lonie based on playing at the feet of Reiwoldt and Lynch, next to Dusty, in a triple premiership side. And L. Neale and Zorco are under 180cm so all players under 180 could be stars. We can bring more compell...

Re: The Billings Dilemma
Saintmike65 I agree with you to an extent he is better as a HF as he marks well for his height I think the old footy vernacular is " He plays tall.". He has a cultured left foot not sure how accurate it is for goal but that would hopefully be a strength for him. His weakness is his consist...

Re: Luke Dunstan to be traded?
The essence of what I take and agree with from Vazelos’ post is that the time for ruthlessness is now. Time to ship out mediocrity and develop a hard edge. A welcoming, inclusive, supportive connected club environment is awesome and it looks like we’re on the way to doing that. A bit of c*** is als...

Re: Jake Carlisle?
Really good question... Clavarino has some big upside they have hopes for him he is 197 cm he needed to fill out body wise and get some games into him. He is a very good intercept mark if he plays CHB he will have to learn to defend body on body... he moves well he is an important prospect for us wi...

Brilliant Summary article on List Manager Gallagher and some of his ideas- Looks like Crouch Higgins and McKernan are our 3 targets. https://www.thefootycorner.com/2020/10/29/saints-list-manager-explains-why-brad-crouch-ticks-a-certain-box-for-st-kilda/?fbclid=IwAR3qYYTfcVwhkqggBT6HeN46VNPCj7k2o3OTy...

Re: Luke Dunstan to be traded?
I don't think there's a great difference between Vazelos & Saynta, both are very protective of their beliefs, Vazelos with his football musings & Saynta with his St Kilda players. Both will happily reply with a "I told you so" when they had their nose put out of joint on a topic. ...

Re: Ross to be traded I’m calling it!!
If we want to be serious about top 4 team our midfield still not good enough.... Seb Ross as a leader and B & F winner has currency I just don’t think he is good enough.. He never shows anything when we are down he just goes missing... Think of Harvey think of Hayes that’s the level and both tho...
