Once again a good get Saintbrat. Thanks for the post. Sneids certainly was "on message." I just hope that they don't have their heads in the sand re the necessity to amend strategies, set-ups, effort and perhaps add a couple of quicks. Will be interesting to see what happens when Kosi come...

Yes, and it's great to have an opinion and hear what other Sainters have to say.

However, "others" watch it also (read lazy press) to get ideas.

It's an interesting and worthwhile discussion point. Would be great if we could achieve it in two year's time. It will be needed to stay at the top. The problem is that if team performance declines, so will member support. Getting a "long term" commitment from 10,000 members will be a big ...

OK, I may have skimmed too quickly and misread your point. "Coach talk" of any type will quickly stir the pot and all of a sudden, it becomes the big issue and is blown out of all proportion. That's not what the Saints need right now. The current issue is about team performance. However, y...

Area 224 is behind the goals and is not a great seating return for flying interstate.

The AFL's thinking on this stinks IMO.

It's the wing area for me. :!:

Give the guy a chance. We lose a couple and all of a sudden, the coach is no good :!: :!: That's a cheap shot. There have been many knee jerk coaching changes over the years at the Saints. Few have been successful. Recruiting (or lack of) seems to me to be a major contributor to our current situatio...

Important point about the draft next year Eastern! It's a real conundrum. Clearly, we now need to test our young guys this year, whilst still keeping an eye on our finals opportunity. However, we should no longer be planning for a GF in 2011. Let's use this opportunity to give the young guys a decen...

An interesting blueprint Fugazi and probably not too far off. There will of course be a thousand different views. Yes, we do need to test as many new guys as possible, preferably giving them a minimum of 3 consecutive games to settle in. Let's not throw the entire year away yet by playing every new ...

Planning to go to the July Saints match.

Great looking new facilities, but a lot more travel time for both players and staff. Pools looks far too small, no facility to dry out boots after training on wet days, car park too small. As with the recruiting, game plan and player refreshment, lack of attention to detail is costly and not easily ...

Seems to be consensus that Ross is the man for the job and I agree wholehartedly with that. He is tactically astute, knows his players well, has respect, but perhaps conservative on game days. Who could be better armed than him right now? Strategies, set plays, players, all need to be re-assessed an...

The "ticket scrutiny" by Etihad attendants seemed sloppy to me, but I was drapped in St Kilda stuff. Perhaps those draped in "opposition stuff" need to have their tickets examined a little closer. I don't mind some competitve barracking, which can be a bit of fun at times, but no...

Surprisingly for our first home game at Etihad, there were lots of empty seats. Perhaps being on a Sunday was a deterent.

Killed at centre clearances and backline stoppages. We used to be good in these areas.

Harv's and Berbakov need to think again.

Gardiner is sorely missed. Stanley's inexperience in the ruck is hurting us & McEvoy needs more coaching - Kingey get on your coaching bike.

I thought that he "put in" last night with over 30 possessions. Some sloppy kicking, yes, but played with determination over the four quarters.

Jones, Clarke, Gamble were "lost" on the ground.

Agree. The "core" will still be there for next year. This year looks gone from a GF perspective, so let's use the balance of the year to see who is capable of coming through for next year, when we can have another serious crack at it. Re-adjust the game plan "now." Give the young...

Clearly there is no easy fix. It's a problem in its totality. Observations from last night : - all players appeared to me to be really "trying." Execution was appalling. Very little talk on the field. - Rucks : got thrashed. McEvoy & Stanley (in particular) are inexperienced. Kingey (r...

Agree with the Doc. The season has a long way to go. Change for the sake of change will not guarantee wins, but we do some fresh blood. The guys pushing up need to get in on the merit of their performance in the VFL. Tactically, we need additional speed on Sunday. Blake and Baker (injured) have been...
