Re: Jordan Lewis about coaches
Some people write off a playing list way too early in my opinion. ….these were Ross’s now infamous departing words the first time he left St Kilda; “We’re a mature list. It’s the end of an era…really” I know that Pelchen was already at our club and I know there were boardroom issues, but if the mos...

Why isn’t Cordy at fault? Trailing his opponent Or should Seb cover his man and Cordy’s? He’s not a KPP who takes contested marks - in fact he’s poor overhead What he is Clean hands, great inside vision and elite handballer If it were Darcy Moore or Tom Stewart or Sicily or Vlaustin or Andrew’s or ...

Re: Credit
Was good to see seb and members back And to see Sharman cement himself into the side I reckon Sharman was rested and I bet Lyon is planning to use him on Cameron next week. I reckon Cameron would run rings round Sharman. Has to be Wilkie. Sharman plays on the interceptors - Sicily, Vlastuin. Stewar...

Re: I have a feeling ....
It's not only about the quality of your midfield. They need to gell and play for each other. They need a game plan and system they believe in. Melbourne last night had a midfield of Gawn, Grundy, Petracca, Brayshaw, Oliver ...all of them All Australians ... Up against Carlton's TDK, Pittonet, Cripp...

Teflon changes his mind depending on the circumstances and of course...depending on who the coach likes Two years ago he wanted Webster out. He wanted Membrey to retire. Bagged him endlessly for having poor accuracy for a while ( as if he's on his own in that department) and...I probably saw 100 po...

Re: Had there ever been a more reviled player than Gresham?
I think Raphael Clarke was considered worse Yeah, I heard a lot of the crap directed to him at the footy including some racist slurs from one individual. i still regret not reporting him. But hey, this forum has always needed a whipping boy or two. Seriously? If you genuinely heard that it has to b...

Re: Reality
What didn't change was the lock Steele, Crouch, Ross, and Marshall have had on stoppages. I'd be expecting some change in that department. I expect Marshall Crouch Steele and Clark to start in the centre against Richmond... I expect Sinclair to go in at stages to replace Clark, Crouch or Steele, as...

Re: Hawks game V Carlton game planning
There's a difference between believing everything Lyon says and actually watching the game for yourself I suggest you try doing the latter sometimes Based on some of your posts, assuming you watch games live, do you watch them with full concentration, or with one eye on the player heat map expansion?

Steele isn’t a creative mid - he’s not Petracca Bont or Cripps… he’s more Crouch …this game style should suit his second to the footy tackle style Has Brad Crouch polled more votes than Bont, Oliver, Cripps and Perracca in the Brownlow? https://www.saints.com.au/news/828310/steele-earns-podium-fini...

Re: Zak Jones season over
Who's excited? Just saying not "broken". Hope he can have a solid end to the season, good pre season and be over his injury concerns. We need a more polish with disposal, and a fit Billings will help considerably. On the other hand, if he doesn't finish well, may be at another club next y...

Billings had 3 score involvements against Hawthorn. Billings got 15 touches at 80% Disposal efficiency…plus 1 goal assist. Ryan Byrnes had 16 touches at 87% DE…plus 2 goal assists Ronnie also had a total of 9 score involvements by the way (Second only to Brad Crouch). What's Byrnes got to do with i...

Between 2014-2021 Billings played 148 games And some VFL games 1 injury interrupted season where he played 9 games (2015) 7 full seasons! Overall played 90% of games He played 85% of games. Didn't do a full pre-season until 2017 and only once in that time, did he play more than 12 games in a row. A...

Hill had 20 possessions. 70% disposal efficiency That's 14 effective disposals. 4 clangers. Only 4 of his disposals were contested. Only 2 score involvements Oh well....if he wants another contract we pay him half what he's on now...maybe if Lethlean goes to Hawthorn, he can take Brad with him and ...

Lyon was NOT offered a new contract in 2011 The club was waiting until the end of the season to make a decision and in all honesty we’re looking for a change (as they were going down the Pelchen path and Lyon and Pelchen despised each other!) In Lyons own words Fremantle did in 8 hours what StK cou...

Re: Ross Lyon is #2
Wrong. Lyon was offered a new deal by St Kilda in 2011 (as was promised to him and his management)....but he was already contracted up until 2012. Hinkley is not contracted beyond this year. His management agreed in good faith that Ross would commit to St Kilda beyond 2012, but Ross ditched them an...

The option that Byrnes took was the low risk option to give us a fifty fifty chance. There's always different options for players. Yes ..I have played footy. ...And ...back in the day if some one was a smart arse they'd cop a clip or an uppercut You're creating a hypothetical situation to try and c...

Re: Votes v Dees
Have you heard of the saying "play the percentages?" Running at full speed you want him to try and tap the footy to a team mate 2 metres away and you think that's a good/low risk option. Ok then. Sorry... Ronnie did have options. He just has to obviously improve his volleyball skills for ...

Bullshiitt No it’s not. You’re either biased or don’t know what you’re looking at. You'd be hopeless in a court room First quarter we jumped out to an early lead. We were dominating territory. We also got most of the frees. I can understand why you were frustrated because even though we had double ...

Re: Steele Carrying Injured Knee
Makes sense why he hasn’t had prolific numbers. He’s been instrumental in some of our wins and played poorly (like many of his team mates) in some of our losses. People neglect the fact that he did an AC joint last year and fractured his clavicle this year as well as this current knee issue. I’m st...

And for the record as it hasn't been highlighted elsewhere, Buddy's second goal wasn't a goal at all. He kicked the ball when both his foot and the ball were behind or over the goal line. The commentators were too busy wanking over Buddy to notice. Sick making really. I called that as it happened. ...

Re: JB’s future at Moorabbin
Hotton will only have to be a middle of the road midfielder, who turns up consistently to be a better player than Billings in my opinion. Billings is the classic historical St Kilda player who looks good in a bad side and supporters cling to him because they have nothing else to be positive about. ...
