Well, it is true that the majority of coaching staff at Essendon didn't like Lovett. IMO this to me explains his lack of votes. As for brownlow votes, Essendon had an ordinary year and didn't win many games, it is not often that players from losing sides poll particularly well. I am not saying that ...

Well i ended up watching the boys train even though I only planned to visit the shop. Not too much to report..there were only 8 of us there watching! They did basic drills for half the session, just basic kicking star drills, Lenny, King and Baker didn't take part but were there. - Bakes just ran l...

Ross Lyon did recruit Lovett yes, so lets all shoot him down because he can't see into the future. Lovett is the fool and fool alone here. If there is one person we should be blaming here, it is Lovett. At different environments players can change. We thought we could do to Lovett what we did...

2001 hey... not much thankfully! I remember meeting a tall blonde boy and his extra tall mate at family day..new kids on the block.. got their autographs while everybody else seemed to leave them alone..they were a couple of unknowns but easy access so eh, why not say G'day. 2005 holds one of my ultimate favourite memories. Round 22 v Brisbane. Milney was amazing kicking 11 goals and it was incredible to chant his name with the rest of the stadium. I've even moved the game to DVD and had it signed. And as much as people say 11 goals is no big deal when we won by 139 poi...

Hard to split Roo and Lenny. I'd almost turn for them. Ah no i have attended every home final since 2004 includ...

Grammy's best game was definitely the Grand Final without a doubt. He really stood up and surprised me a bit, i hope this brings him some confidence and he continues to improve. He's been a great pickup and the Lions could have really used him now. Oh well bad luck, you could say we owe them one - m...

Ah 2002, arguably the last year of our real ordinary years. 5 wins and a draw, although two of those wins were against the Blues which I guess you could call a highlight of the year given how few there were. As for the draw - I remember Milne kicked a ripper that I was sure to be the sealer.. only t...

I'm not really feeling as though the "Milne has been figured out by better opponents and isn't strong enough to compete against bigger bodies" argument is entirely true. Maybe 2-3 years ago, but not now. In the Grand Final, the biggest game of the year against the toughest opposition, he d...

Yep, huge Ross fan from day one. Partly well ok 100% due to the fact he took Milney off the trade table. But i've remained a fan ever since. He's taken us places and really should be the 2009 Premiership coach if not for inaccurate kicking which he had no control over. I like how he demands the best...

I don't really know if "going missing" is the correct term when he had 3 goal scoring opportunities. What is clear is that he missed these opportunities. It's a matter of whether you can go in to a game when you know a player suffers the anxiety that goes with these high pressure situation...

I've said it before and i'll say it again. When you don't get on with the head coach and others it makes it hard to stick around. Just look at the Best and Fairest results for a hint. When you don't get on with the coach and other head coaches at the club I think that plays a big part.
Welcome to the Saints Lovett, I hope you, Ross and the boys create something special.
