Re: Sack & Happy - Happy Sack
I signed the form but dropped an untouched ballot paper in the box. Again. Creature of habit. What form did you sign? I just got my name crossed off the list and then did likewise. That way I'm only disappointed that others think they have the illusion of choice. My illusions were shattered in 2021...

Opportunity knocks for fringe forwards, but it's not like this is going to cost us a flag like 2010!

Re: The Review .
I conducted my own review based on our performances in the final 11 games. We should have beaten Brisbane at Marvel, Essendon at Marvel, Fremantle at Marvel, West Coast at Optus and Hawthorn at Marvel to finish 7th or 8th. We did beat West Coast and Hawrhorn, with a bonus win over Carlton when we ki...

Cameron got GWS into five finals series, three prelims and one GF, most if not all of which he had Lenny as an assistant!

Re: Our next coach
King, Wanganeen-Milera, Higgins, Coffield and Clark are all recent first-round draft picks that we have picked up after realising that we weren't going to get deep into the finals by giving these picks away for guys like Hill, Hannebery, etc.

Re: Our next coach
So the next coach according to SS could well be "other". I'm starting to warm to other, because if other bombs, you could always switch to an other other. Cameron for mine, given his ability to develop elite young talent and reach deep into finals over several finals campaigns in the past...

Leon Cameron
Lenny Hayes had a strong working relationship with two former AFL coaches, namely Ross Lyon and Leon Cameron. Both are very experienced and have taken theirr respective former teams to grand finals and multiple preliminary finals, which makes them both astute mentors. However, Cameron has the edge o...

Re: Living In Nowhere Land
So we ended the 2017 trade period with Richo saying that our improvement in 2018 was going to come from "organic growth" from within our list. We went from 11 wins and 11th to 4.5 wins and 16th! In 2022 we have picks 10, 28 and 32 and Zaine Cordy as a mid-twenties, 100 game, key defender. ...

Re: Wood, Highmore, Campbell, Peris one year extensions
Happy for Wood, because he has a big tank and uses the ball better than most players on our list. Tick. Peris has shown some promising glimpses for a rookie. Tick. Highmore is too good for the VFL, but his kicking is still shaky. Jury still out. Campbell showed in the final game that he can play sec...

Re: Clarko and the Hawks disgusting behaviour.
Hawthorn must go into a hard lockdown immediately to stop the spread of racism (fear). Once a safe and effective (mis)education rollout is developed, Gil will spruik it ad nauseum and characterise anyone who disagrees with its bona fides as selfish and rascist if they don't join the bandwagon too (d...

Wise decision, because they're on the way up with plenty of cap space now that Rankine is gone.
He might even fill that role for them too!

Re: McCartin and Hickey
Hard not to see that McCartin is way slimmer and taught up in Sydney. That maybe wotth a thought. Maybe not. I was at our game against the Swans last week and I watched Paddy closely in the first quarter as I was at the Lockett End. He clearly reads the ball well in the air and is suited to CHB. Ho...

Re: Hanneberry done
Since Hanners doesn't have a specific injury and is just being managed to get through his arduous season, I suggest that his farewell game will be against the Swans next week, where he can wave goodbye to all of the fans (Swans fans that is). Then he can go down the race with his team mates (Swans) ...

Re: Winning season - GREAT SUCCESS ?
Your wife, not so much! Seriously though, I had us finishing with 12 wins before the season with a fairly tough draw. I think we will still get there with a hard fought win against Brisbane this week, but fall at the final hurdle in the final game of the home home and away season against Sydney. Rem...

Re: Predictions this Round
We were the last team to beat them this season, albeit at Docklands. Also let's not forget that we led the pussies by 5 goals early down there late last year. Even under Richo in his death throws back in 2019 we led them down there by a kick at half time. So we can compete with them, despite the ven...
