Re: Who would I consider off the table for trade?
My point he was way off it in the VFL this year. If the VFL reserves competition was still around he would have been playing in it most weeks. But I imagine that you know that and had him as untouchable because he isn't worth anything.

Re: Just got a call from the club.
We'll post another significantly large loss this year. We're close to stony broke. It rules our decision making and is costing us in every direction. Vicious circle of the team being no good, supporters not going to games, club losing money, understaffed, underpaid people in core roles. Therefore - ...

If no-one will take Longer and we don't recruit or draft another ruckman he'll get a one year contract. If we do he'll be delisted.

Re: MINCHINGTON NOT OFFERED NEW CONTRACT
Always enigmatic. Would burst on to the scene at the beginning of the game and then disappear for the rest of it. Really looked like a player when he was visible. Shame he didn’t make it but it just wasn’t to be. Correct. Couldn't get fit and stay fit and notoriously had no tank and would run out o...

Re: Breaking: Polec offered 800k at 5 years
I'm pretty sure that there aren't better options at the price who would be willing to play for St Kilda at the moment. Players usually have factors, other than just money, influencing their decision when changing clubs. Our reported offer for Lycett was higher than Port's and yet it's clear he'll pl...

So do I. Bleak but compellingly accurate, for the most part, dissection of our list.
Bang on with two points in particular.
1. We musn’t trade pick 4
2. If we have the chance to pick Rankine we should take it.

Blind faith that he’s the right guy at that price.
Don’t mind rebuilding slowly taking competent players to fix our bottom six problems but it will compromise our rebuild if we pay too much for too little.

Re: 5 years Dan Hannebery?
It would be great to get Hannebury. The dude is a winner. A pro. Experienced. From all reports, an 'elite' trainer. When building teams from rock bottom, you just need to steadily improve. We're not going to instantly get Fyfe, Martin and Kelly and be amazing overnight. Melbourne for example, added...

Re: Wright and Goddard have been delisted
Amazing to think that at one stage Hugh Goddard was touted as a #1 draft selection. I think when we got him it was considered a bit of a steal . Just shows what a raffle the draft can be. Our club has a preference for taking "sliders". Our Recruitment Team Bains etc beating their chests a...

Re: Ratten to the Saints 2019 - assistant
After hearing that Hawthorn had asked Brett to walk I am having a change of mind on whether he's a replacement candidate for Richo. Jeff Kennet and the board along with Clarko decided not to renew his contract. We should be asking why. Don't get me wrong, I think he would be a terrific person to em...

Trout must have found a young kid with a great family, a good kid, who will be available at Pick 125, cause that’s where his replacement is coming from... FMD. Good luck Freeza, hope you find a way back into the AFL system somehow, you deserve better. Trout got moved on. Actually he’s still employe...

Re: 5 years Dan Hannebery?
Not suggesting that it will be on a whim, quite the reverse, carefully calculated, but am suggesting at its most basic that using high draft picks even in an exchange of those picks to acquire a player with shocking form over a long period is not sensible. I'm also suggesting that the football manag...

Re: We acknowledge we have let you down ...
It's also simple -- we keep recruiting multiple C grade midfielders with average skills, and multiple C grade ruckmen -- we will stay sh1te no matter who coaches us! !! A coach can easily be replaced --- but you can't take your poor recruiting decisions back. We need to nail our recruiting and recr...

Re: 5 years Dan Hannebery?
Seriously...said it before...does anyone seriously think the club won't do its due diligence on Hanners body? Of course the Saints doctors and high performance staff will. His body might be fine and he needed an operation all year. Who knows. No one does. Lethlean is not an idiot either and will no...

Re: We acknowledge we have let you down ...
A guarantee that our list will be improved. That’s a pretty bib undertaking. Now let’s see what suggestions has the club floated to date? 1. Interest in Polec and Gaff. Good players who appear to have committed elsewhere. 2. Lycett. On the bright side somewhat of an improvement on our underwhelming ...

You would hope it wasn’t, if for no other reason that all we have in the bank before the trade period starts is pick 4 and a pick in the fifties.

Re: 5 years Dan Hannebery?
Hanners is not finished. Not by a long shot. Unfortunately he is very close to it. He may come up with the odd good game, like Armo, but like Armo, OP and other factors have taken a heavy toll. He’s s passenger. Why should we be patsy’s for the shocking decision by the bloods to contact him for the...

Re: 5 years Dan Hannebery?
This was a particular favourite at the very bottom of a long rant bigfooty rant, one of a few in similar vein, rating all the Sydney players. "Last and certainly the least is Hanners. The Tainteds can have him for a stale Sayo bikky. I do not care if he is playing hurt or out of form but it is ...
