Re: Finals Week 1 scenarios
And it all comes down to nothing as we don't get a home ground game. Why is the AFL hell bent on changing the rules at every turn for St Kilda. They didn't change the score for the Adelaide game but managed to change a score for one of our games many years ago.

Re: In for next week against Rooboys - Four at least
It really doesn't matter who comes in or who goes out, Ross has given up on developing any sort of progress in the team when he acknowledges in his press conference that some players have been making mistakes for a long time. I was angry when I heard that because its his job to get rid of errors in ...

Re: Melbourne...wheres the games biggest concern?
With Oliver and Fritz out I'd like to think the coaches can motivate the boys to play like they know how to. This is our Grand Final. If we don't beat the Demons with those two missing we may as well book holidays for September.

Re: Butler 1 week
On the video replay I watched at no time were Butlers arms above his victims shoulders thus high contact is ruled out. It was classed as medium impact which supports the no concussion outcome so now we are down to a footballer being hung, drawn and quartered for careless contact. This would suggest ...

Re: Match Thread Saints v Swans Round 13 2023
If the AFL is so concerned about head knocks why don't they make helmets mandatory? Just like building sites and motorbikes. It may not stop the injury but it should lessen any damage.

Re: Tasmania- Why a brand new stadium?
Logic would suggest that Tassie uses a current stadium and then, if or when they outgrow it, modify it or build a new structure. Other priorities for funding are far more urgent and the new stadium may not be needed.

Lost 2 games by a total of 13 points, sitting third on the ladder, hopefully second after Norths game. I'll take that any day. Cheer Up.

Re: Is Caminiti in trouble?
Bikers wear helmets, NFL players wear helmets . both to protect their heads. Why doesn't the AFL make helmets compulsory for everyone. It may not stop concussions but it may reduce the effects with a bit of cushioning. Yes, Murphy should have been 1 0r 2 weeks for starting the incident off the ball.

Re: Is Caminiti in trouble?
How come Murphy doesn't get an invite to the same tribunal? Off the ball - deliberate, high contact, don't know the impact but it should be a couple of weeks. Or is the lesson to be learnt here "Get in first" as the retaliator is the one who gets pinged?

Re: Saints and filth to commemorate Cuz's stand against racism
I'd love to see a re-enactment of the events 30 years ago. We win and Nicky goes across to the filth and sticks it to them like he did back then. I remember applauding when he did it the first time.

Their finally using Brad Hill as the racing car he is, instead of the four wheel drive that Ratts used him as. He's loving it.

Sydney, above us and Essendon below us have played the Hawks and Gold Coast. Whereas we've played Freo and Bulldogs, two of last years finalists. I feel confident of a good win.

This has to bring confidence in the group that when you go on the paddock and put effort into the plan anything is possible. Hopefully we will only improve as we get get our injury list under control. Well done to the boys and the coaching staff. One down 26 to go.

Re: Practice Thread for Practice Match Saints v Bummers 2023
I liked what I saw, the same number of scoring shots with double the score. Improved pressure acts across the paddock. No-one walking round with hands on hips. They all appeared invested in the game and put in a four quarter effort (except the first few minutes). Hopefully we start getting people ba...

Re: It’s very hard to wash your clothes with no detergent
I believe we have the makings of a good team. There were a few games last year when we played footy at the top level and came out on top. Unfortunately, inconsistency was our enemy. I think the remodelled coaching department will demand more from the players and I hope they rise to the challenge. De...

Re: Watching the Port vs Saints 2004 Pf first quarter .
I just hope Lenny and Banger can instil a bit of pride in the playing group. Even though we lost that game the players never gave up and I would pay to see such games instead of some of those insipid efforts we saw last year. Mission to give the group some stamina to last four quarters and Ross to b...

Re: He's Only 22
We have a reasonable expectation that ANY young person playing in the AFL should be able to kick set shot goals from within the arc. Some take longer that others to develop the accuracy and some take longer to get the distance. For all his training Max has issues and not one coach has helped him to ...

Re: Are we so used to failure…
..... that we have to accept it. NO. Brett Ratten has had sufficient time to mould this group into a team but we are no further down the track than when he took over so essentially we have stalled for a decade. I've seen this group play, and play superbly so I know they can achieve wins, they just d...

Re: Positives
If this is the standard we've achieved under Ratts I'm positive he's not going to get us a flag. There's no team first mentality, there's no plan, they don't learn from past mistakes and after half time there was no urgency or effort in the team which is suggesting they just want money and have no r...
