Re: Simon Lethlean finished at St. Kilda effective immediately?

This screams of another one shown the door because he dared to disagree with Ross the boss. I know I am in the minority but I really don't like Ross Lyon and cannot understand why he is touted as some kind of supercoach. He has only had success, moderate success at that, when he has been handed A-g...

Re: Simon Lethlean finished at St. Kilda effective immediately?

People underestimate how much of a workaholic Ross is plus he is very intelligent. So effective immediately means sacked. The Board has stepped in. Seems like Leathers has f***ed up. He's the best coach St Kilda have had bar Jeans. I have no doubt we will be in the hunt again. You'd be crazy to wri...

Re: Reserves competition

I know it has to come down to basic dollars and cents, but the beach oval surface and the way players are not developing properly at Sandy is one key area of concern. That, and our debt. I know Melbourne and Casey (Springvale) and Hawks and Box Hill have been successful but try as I might, I cannot ...

He was left on the bench too long in the second half of the 1997 Grand Final. Should have had more ground time.

Re: If we were to win the 2024 flag is 100,000 members a possibility???

I reckon RTB has opened the window and we are bonafide contenders right now. He has prepared the runway for a short takeoff Go you good things I definitely think with RL coaching and with the coaching team he has assembled, all of whom command respect and were excellent leaders in their own right, ...

Re: If we were to win the 2024 flag is 100,000 members a possibility???

Excellent assessment. I think we are 2 or 3 years away from being real contenters. When you look at the premiers over the past couple of decades the winning teams have all had a collection of All Australian's and a good number of players who are in the top 10-20 for their positions in the competiti...

I still have big reservations about our alignment with Sandringham. I think the club need to make some changes in this space.

Re: Champion Data Club by Club rankings 2024

Yet another analysis that says we over performed. Because saying they underestimated us is an admission that they got it wrong. There's more to this. Our wins/losses defy the statistics, we are an outlier. Teams are playing the champion data stats like they're the bible. That is the main source of ...

Re: Champion Data Club by Club rankings 2024

They don't take into consideration injuries, like the ones which cost Membrey and King most of their respective seasons. Or Steele's injury which probably should have been season ending with an operation, but instead he came back and fought through the pain to lead us into the finals. The man is a g...

Re: St Kilda to kick on

They might - but they have to finish above 12th first. Some of their future academy products are currently linked to other clubs through father-sons, like Boston Everitt for example. I think if they fail to make finals again this season that a lot of their players will seek greener pastures or head ...

Re: St Kilda to kick on

We won’t win in Geelong Bug having said that, the ground suits RL as it is easy to defend as it is long and narrow. It'll be close down there, I think. Given it's round 1, we'll give it a shake. RL has a good record down there (with Fremantle). Our team is now a lot different to the team which beat...

I like Jay Clark….. Anyway I can’t wait to se e Jay Clark’s ladder predictions given that he separates himself from those who ‘predicted a slide’ so to speak, for the Saints He predicted we would drop out (of the top 8). Only Mark Robinson at the HS thinks we will play finals in 2024. I think the o...

Re: Apart from the Saints, every Victorian team has a blockbuster......

Rather sell home games against Collingwood (or even Hawthorn, Melbourne or Richmond) to be played at the G to be honest. If it means that much to the club then the players should be told - win, or else. And not eat food from street vendors which will make you have gastro the day before a big game. B...

Re: Dan Butler Ankle Setback

It's worrying that he's having a second lot of surgery on the same injury. He's vital to us, irreplaceable. If he's back in training in Jan then just have to cross fingers that the recovery goes more smoothly this time. It may speed up Collard's debut and inclusion into the senior side. If so, ther...

But not in China, NZ, TAS, or any interstate venue In fairness we have won in Qld (Brisbane,Gold Coast and Townsville) consistently, in NSW/ACT recently (Canberra, Sydney and Macquarie Fields) and WA (Perth) regularly since 2020, so it isn't interstate that's the issue, it is those home games we se...

Was it not possible to get the points in those games Maybe, just maybe we should change our mentality not our situations We look for excuses not answers All of those games were winnable- other teams were able to win them! Our results in Wellington were appalling and some of the efforts were plain embarrassing. The club and team failed to prepare adequately for any of those matches.
