Re: The torment of 14,975 days ago when we were level ...

Jeez 1971 must have been the most heartbreaking of losses. Up by 4-5 goals near 3 quarter time. Can't believe it. It's 10 to zero premierships since then. Amazing stat. Mate, 97 - up by 25 near half time against Adelaide (that would be like being five goals up against Freo now) 2009 - level in time...

How many games did Walsh end up playing this year. I counted two - including the one against us that he got subbed off in.

Re: Lynch at CHF for the Crows?

I thought we were a real chance against Hawthorn every time we have played them for ten years - but Adelaide are not us, I reckon Adelaide might, if they are lucky, avoid a very huniliating 100 point plus defeat which sets them back 12 months, like North got in Perth.

Re: How many members will we lose if BJ leaves?

If members want to leave because one player leaves then we don't want them as members. I am loyal to players when they are with us, but if they leave well that is it. The St. Kilda Football Club is who I support and follow not individual players. Stupid thread. Spot on - for years the criticism of ...

Re: Why we are hated ....

What a load of crap! Why then, after being a life long footy tragic following Fitzroy almost religiously, did I choose the saints once my proud club folded (taken over, merged  ) to follow? So did my younger brother. I always thought the saints were a rough and tumble lot when I followed the ...

  God I hope it is true. Would be fantastic for bj to get that type of payout, would make Freo look silly, would mean that Freo loses some players when the inevitable SC squeeze that a Lyon coached team comes under, Saints get 600k in their already (according to Watters) healthy S...

Remember an article about feral supporters several years ago - Richmond supporters talking about giving it to Geelong all day - and saying that they wouldn't get away with, or even try to - at a St Kilda match "no way".

Re: Our third biggest win ever!

For me the huge wins always mean more when it is against a traditional club, which includes the Swans.
Interestingly, before 1991 we had only won a handful of games in the vicinity of 15 goals or more. Over the last fifteen years we must have won something like 20-25 by that type of margin.

I met him with my son at a St Kilda family day at the Kars St Oval and found him to be a totally likeable guy. I don't think he'd take any nonsense from people who want to pot him, but honestly, would you respect anyone who did?

Re: Congratulations to the St Kilda football club

Since 1997 the club has really turned itself around. We had a few ordinary years at the turn of the millenium but generally overall we have had plenty of highs since we won the Ansett Cup pre-season 1996 and the McClelland Cup for finishing on top of the ladder in 1997. We may not have made finals t...

Re: Debut's for next week

Two rookies that look likely to be promoted next year could get a run. Curren and Ferguson. Not sure if they can be promoted for the last game but both have shown form in the VFL. Ferguson as a 194cm defender may be part of our future and it would be good to give him a taste of AFL. Similarly Curre...

Re: We can still make it...

As a supporter back in the dark old eighties when we never beat Carlton much between 78 and 91 (twice in all those years) I really appreciate the fact that in the past ten years we have beaten them fourteen or fifteen times and by big margins, considering that for ninety-odd years we only beat them ...

Lets finish it with how we are doing it....blooding more players who have only had few games. Without the game not having started I am already delighted by our ins. I am not at all phased by our winning margin. Great if it is big....but I care not if it isn't. Will be great just to see how Ross etc...

I cheered when Kosi was subbed off. I was cheering for Watters. Applauding his move. Bold but clever to sub a ruckman for a small forward. There is a reason hundreds applauded. Unless we are all morons. Maybe the OP is a disgrace for not supporting our coaches move. Say what? That move was probably...

He didn't swear at the umpire - he swore at OBrien - first time in the history of the game that a player received a 50 metre penalty for swearing at another player apprently.

Kosi will get three or four which is awesome. A forced change might show what the saints side will look like next year. It might even convince the coaches of a Koziless saints side which will be a positive IMO Are you for real? Kosi was one of few forwards for us who actually got to the ball on a r...
