Re: Sinclair

Fantastic couple of months of footy since switching to the wing and a good example of a player taking opportunity and not giving it up! But i think the message to me is more of our fringe players should be tried in different roles, there hasn't been enough experimentation!! I mean SInclair was only ...

Re: Team v Tigers

No Acres - Hickey for Longer??? (up against the mobile Nankervis) Meh I'm guessing match committee went something like this... Richo..."Our mid setup has been strong, Billy's appetite to compete and put pressure on the opposition has been really aggressive. The synergy of our stoppage group ha...

Re: Changes v Tigers

Longs inclusion isn't good news for nate wright, mind you, if long is as ineffectual as his first stint in the side, neither will be best 22 players. Don't like his selection because he's done not much at Sandi, so where is selection integrity? The other changes I'm ok with. Hopefully Blake hickey a...

Re: MRP - Webster 2 weeks, Steven fine

Watching Jimmy over the last few years, he's as aggressive and niggly as all hell and I love it! He's exactly what we need and with Jake C, having tough aggressive, borderline dirty defenders is important! All the best teams have had one or two 'nutters'! They need to be carefully managed, for sure ...

Re: Finally a Sliding Door segement i agree with!!

I've been Hating the Purple Warrior's take on our season so far...I generally like the sliding doors for a bit of a laugh on a friday morning, but this year Barrett's digs at us have not been cool!! But this week, his take that if we are to make anything happen in Season 2017...we have to leave Sub...

Re: Team v Dockers

I feel like Blake has played 11 pretty solid games before a stinker last week and deserves the chance to redeem, the guy needs to keep playing seniors - I can't see anything to be gained by collecting 35 touches in the VFL this week. Weller in contrast has been pretty average all year, it could be ...

Re: Team v Dockers

I think if we are to make anything out of this season, 3 players really need to lift - Blake Acres, Mav Weller and Tom Hickey. If we can keep staying in contention while Hickey goes through his lull in form, You get the feeling he is the only ruckman we have who is ready to actually have a big impac...

Jack Steven - cast your minds back...

Some on hear may remeber Jack S's progression better than me...I'd love to look at it a little more closely. I certainly remeber him coning in as a srumbing small forward when he was first getting games...he was in and out of the team...what was he like in the vfl before he was a regular? did he pla...

Re: Longer - say it loud and proud

You can't deny Billy has improved this season, and is finding more of the pill, is using his frame around contests to more effect and his tap work has always been a strength. I was scathing of him when they dropped Hickey, especially after his first couple of games, but he has impressed me since wit...

Had a stinker but wasn't alone. Could be a defining game for him, not in a good way, but if he is mentally strong enough to persevere and if he gets another opportunity, good luck to the young lad.

Has been good all year! Loved his new role at relief tuck, was dissapointed to see Bruce ruck tonight, thought this suited gilbo perfectly, but he was very good tonight nonetheless

Season 2017 is slipping away

What the heck has happened since we beat Carlton? We've really lost confidence and came out tonight looking flat. We didn't have that hard edged glint in the eye where we were preparing for battle and I put that squarely on the coaching team! Roo to come in next week and I think Montagna needs a spe...

Re: Bring Bruce 'Back'

Bruce has been down on form for 18 months now, I think we need to come to terms with the possibility that this is his normal level - a 35 goal forward rather than a 50-60 goal forward that we'd hoped. He's a third tall rather than a #1 target. He would benefit from having both McCartin and Membrey ...

Ouch!

Gee whiz that was painful to watch. Two teams on a completely different plane today. We just weren't up for the fight so really the whole game was a right off!! More mature sides probably lose by 20 points, not 50! But this season is about momentum and timing. Getting gun sides on off days anyone is...

Out: Webster (inj) Minchington Sinclair or Dunstan In: dmac Stevens Mccartin Tough call on the outs, I like all of them but Paddy needs to be rewarded. If roo misses, straight swap and we keep another mid in. Stevens comes straight in as he has been excellent and should be cherry ripe after a week ...

Weller (if fit) for Wright (stiff but Weller is in the leadership group and played very well vs Hawks, straight back in for mine)

Re: Weller Out

If the change to the team is Weller Out and Wright in; my concern is we will carry too many players who don't get enough of the footy...Minch, Gresham, Wright and Longer...Now there will be opportunity for one or more of these guys to really step up in Mav's absence and i hope they can. Wright is in...
