Street parking and a little beach parking but make sure you pay if parking there. 10 minute walk at the most.

Re: Hawthorn moving training base to dingley

Time to start sniffing around the Statutory Planning Permit mechanism that allowed Hawthorn to get that land in Dingley Village. Was the matter handled by Councik, or was there a 'special resolution' made by the Minister for Planning.......... If the Hawks can work with Kingston City Council, how c...

Re: Saints Academy Zone - AFL Proposal

This is the biggest beat up of all time. This is for young kids, both boys and girls up to about 15 years of age. It doesn't include about 95% of the footy population and each club has been given a mammoth 35K to help them with the zones. I cant see it really achieving much at all. It doesn't hurt t...

Re: Will Nick captain for one more year?

Time for us to go back to the 2003 system that Grant Thomas introduced. We need to develop leaders in our young group. Just like Thomas gave opportunities to Hamill, Hayes, Riewoldt and Ball we now need to develop young players into leaders. Just like Hamill, Hayes, Ball and Harvey before them didn...

For the 20 players drafted in the next 20 years I'm unsure it will matter. You can still get the player anyway.

Re: Hawthorn moving training base to dingley

Well you were flat out wrong so my call is looking pretty good comparatively. Firstly I couldn't give a stuff if I was wrong but if I was right I would make sure, before I tell everyone, that I was actually right. Academies for a small minority is hardly academies for every player in Victoria. Matt...

Argh Ermmmm! Vic club academies no chance? Ok then. I hate to say it but....... Called it 8 months ago but then again what do I know right? Just irrational and illogical nonsense to some. Btw how is it we missed out on the Mornington Peninsula to MFC? Screwed over again. You do realise what players...

Fairly common knowledge up here he spends every spare minute in Melbourne, and will re-locate down at seasons end. Not sure of his exact age, but would think he'd be a good fit with our young team. Thoughts ? If fit we need to look at getting him. great player and the perfect age. I suppose it depe...

A six team final would only take three weeks if you worked it like this... Week one: First and Sixth Second and Fifth Third and Fourth Week two: Winner of the top match takes a week off. The loser is out. Winners of the next two matches play-off and the loser is out. Week three: Final It would prob...

Re: The new fixture for the next lot of TV rights

I thought that what the AFL proposed during last season was fair, and that is every team plays the other 17 clubs once. then the teams are divided into three lots, 1st to 6th, 7th to 1th, 13th to 18th, and each team plays all five other teams in its group a second time, I thought it was to be intro...

Re: Where does Geary fit into the puzzle?

Geary plays because he is a small defender who runs and locks down. Very important. The only other plyer we have close to him is Wright. Geary kicks like Mark Bayes compered to Wright. I'm sure he will eventually be replaced but that's a few years away as we don't seem to have recruited his replacem...

Re: The new fixture for the next lot of TV rights

There will never be 17 games unless some drastic happens. Players would still want the same money but TV wouldnt pay the same money. Also it still isn't fair even though its better than it is now. Would you rather have played WCE at home last season or 2014? The AFL also have contracts with stadiums...

Hi all, As a new Saints member, (and remembering I was an AFL isolationist for a few years after Fitzroy was dissolved), some old Saints-specific matters did intrigue me, so could one of the more experienced fans please fill me on the following, that would be tops: - Snowdeli’s sponsorship of the S...

Re: Reward for cheating

In the circumstances, we should be permitted to draft an extra rookie. Isnt it just a waste of money. The player will have been retired or delisted by a club. Seems like we one just because Essendon got 10. I honestly think the club couldn't give a rats. He has to be delisted at the end of the year...

Re: The Saints will finish ?? in 2016?

I still think we need one more high end young player (midfielder) to add to our list. So I dont want to finish higher than 13th or 14th. So 6-7 wins seems about right. Hopefully we maintain a % over 80 at season's end. Then 2017 I think we should be looking for 12 wins. You really wouldn't want to ...

Well it looks like Nick. I know we have had this discussion before but I would have Armo now. This is the first year in many I see an opportunity for another captain but I would say it will be the same one. We don't lose keeping Nick.

I have another poster who wants to take 5 shares. But we already have promises for 100 shares so we have a small problem. There are a number of options. 1. Try to collect another $2000 and sponsor a 2nd player. 2. Try to collect enough to sponsor a higher profile player eg Josh Bruce for an extra $...

Yep it's such a major issue they should just delist Carlisle now because it will never work by missing a year. He won't be able to fit into the structure, he'll miss too much development and they will never know his true role. What an over-reactive post. Speaking of over-reactive posts. It's pure c...

Bluthy surely you aren't comparing a player who has never played AFL footy to a guy who has had 6 years in the system. Carlisle will not have an issue at all and I still don't see Freeman having an issue if he gets his body right. It isn't as if he hasn't trained in the last 2 years. He knows runni...
