Re: How good is Hicky actually?
Hickey does have Cox like athleticism. I have no idea how good his ruckwork is though. He is a great grab. Re: Josh Bruce - GWS
As an ACT resident, I can clarify any confusion... The guy on the right is Josh Bruce. Played his junior footy in Canberra with Eastlake and a season with Glenelg. He is the younger brother of former Sydney Swan rookie Aaron Bruce. He played most of his junior footy up forward, but has struggled at ...

Re: So the new recruits do what to our 2013 lineup?
Kossie played 19 games this season and missed one with suspension. He was effectively rested for 1 or 2 games once we were eliminated, being named an emergency once or twice I recall. Again, I stress that Kossi will be our starting FF come round 1, 2013. We can only carry 3 defensive talls; Brown an...

Re: So the new recruits do what to our 2013 lineup?
If M Brown comes to the club, Simpkin will struggle for a permanent spot (I would have Gilbert,S Fisher and Gwilt ahead of him as talls). It is laughable to suggest that a fit Kossi will be displaced by Lee. Hickey is a pure ruck and more experienced at this stage, than Lee. B: Geary Brown Gilbert H...

Re: Seaby?
Back-up/depth player at best. My understanding is that he is close to done, due to injury.
3 years with the swans for 18 games:
2010: 6/
2011: 7/ 5 NEAFL
2012: 5/ 10 NEAFL
Too injury prone in my books

Re: As it stands
Correct.
BJ Comp*
Pick 24 - almost certain to be used in trade involving Hickey
Pick 34*
Pick 43 - likely used to get M Brown (M Brown + 57 to Saints for Cripps + 43)
71*
* =3 picks minimum we have to use

Brown has done two things:SaintWodonga wrote:Any news from our friends over in Perth on this trade? What are you guys hearing?
1) Told WCE he wants to return to Victoria
2) Nominated the saints as his preferred club
I expect the deal to get done this week, involving Cripps.

Brown is contracted another year. I think we have zero chance of getting him unless we overpay with a player+pick (Cripps+2nd rounder)

"It is believed the Demons would be prepared to part with a second round (No. 26) or third round (No. 45) pick, or ruckman Stefan Martin or midfielder Cale Morton, as part of a swap for Ray." http://www.couriermail.com.au/sport/afl/melbourne-looks-to-secure-farren-ray-during-afl-trade-week...

Re: Sydney Swans Forgotten man Jesse White
White is a player who would be perfect fit into our side. However I think Sydney would want a 2nd round pick for him - that isn't happening in my books.
White is a ruckman - He predominantly rucked this year with the Sydney reserves side and made the NEAFL team of the year - as a ruck.

Re: Daniel Currie
we have been talking with hickey why pick him as well? Because we need at least 3-4 real rucks on our list. At this stage is McEvoy and no-one else as core rucks. Stanley, Kossi, Blake, Wilkes do not cut it. Most clubs have a good 3rd ruck on their list. At Sydney it was Seaby (and Jesse White as a...

Re: When would BJ have qualified for the veterans list?
http://www.afl.com.au/development/aflexplained/about/tabid/13532/default.aspx#veteran Under the Vet list rules, the player has to be aged 30 at September of the season listed AND have been listed for 10 years. BJ was born May 1985 and next year is turning 28 (Year 1). So would not be eligible in 201...

Watters has officially stated this week that Gram, Jones and Kossi will be at the club next year.
Looks like Clarke, Polo and Peake are 100% done.
