Re: Question regarding Leigh Montagna.
Look at how bj was in tears again the other night when the team that bought him played us. It means a great deal to these St.Kilda stalwarts to be a one club player. Joey is a Saints man through and through and should never be traded, especially to Essendon, the team that citywest as nexus-nick sai...

Re: is roo our greatest ever player?
HFF Tredrea 4 time AA CHF would probably edge him.... He is a better forward than Brown, Pavlich, Hall Hall doesn't even deserve to be mentioned in the same breath as Brown, Pavlich, Tredrea & Roo. I think Tredrea was a cross between Loewe and Riewoldt - in that he was equally comfortable takin...

Re: Young forwards
Harsh on White - as he was drafted as a long-term prospect. Also harsh on Markworth who suffered a serious injury last year - when he was expected to break out and be given a chance to cement his spot in the team. I think Lee can offer more than Maister - definitely a better kick on goal. Agree on S...

Re: Eli
From memory, the two main knocks on Eli were on his pace (was never considered slow, but was not considered to have that "burst" of speed) and also his disposal. I really liked his goal on Saturday - the initial handball wasn't the best, but he ran hard to receive the follow up and it was ...

Re: Favourite saints player who played with a injury
Lenny Hayes played almost an entire game with a torn ACL against North in 2006 This one for sure. Also, as another poster mentioned - that game against North where we ended up with about 14 fit players in the 30s and a medal was commemorated for all the players in their honour. I'm fairly sure Alan...

A lot of the high draft picks this year have had injury concerns.
Boyd and Scharenberg have had their issues. Was Aish struggling with injury too?

Would be very happy to get Jones, a genuine mid with grunt.
Said this in the other post as well.
I think Dumont is going to be one of the best players from this draft. Just a hunch. Love the way he goes about it.

The PSD is largely redundant.
We will, however, need to delist someone to make room for him on the list. TDL & Dunell the prime candidates I would imagine.

Very pleased with his appointment.
Had some personal dealings with him when I was doing some work commentating on the VFL.
Fantastic footy brain, great with developing youth, and a top bloke to boot.
Well done Saints.

I don't want Hartung.
Big knocks on his disposal/decision-making at times, and from some reports appears to be a bit full of himself. I think he will get found out at AFL level.

What I think:
3 - Billings
18 - Dumont
19- Z Jones
Although I would be equally happy with Matt Crouch, Blake Acres or Luke Dunstan with either of 18/19 too.

Agree with you 100% on this. If it could go: Pick 3- Billings Pick 18 and 19- Two of Crouch, Dumont, Sheed and Dunstan then I will be very happy. I would love Lennon to slide but that probably wont happen. This midfield heavy draft has come at the perfect time for us and we have the opporunity to b...

Pick 3 - Classiest midfielder available. From my limited knowledge, I can't split Billings, Kelly & Aish. Scharenberg might be a chance too. Billings might have that X factor about him, that Steve Johnson type who starts as a high HFF and moves into the midfield. Picks 18 & 19 - Best 2 insid...

Those ratings are hilarious! Heard Terry Wallace rate in 3 'tiers'... only the filth and the Saints were in the top tier. Were Brisbane in a tier of their own? Kinda feel sorry for them, a few years in development into 3 first round picks and a couple of other promising kids and they all want to go...
