Re: Two Goals One
The good thing is that with Hawthorn, North and Sydney failing, there's more than one spot in the eight up for grabs.

Re: Can we not get back into Tasmania?
I went down there for a couple of games and enjoyed it. Our record there wasn't great though, so wasn't surprised when they pulled the pin. Still it's a bit disappointing. If we played 4 games a year there I'd consider moving south.

Re: Recruits
Carlisle and Brown have been very solid down back. Steele has been good in the centre as well, and Koby made a good start v Hawthorn. It's great that these days the club is trading for best 22 players, rather than Richmond cast-offs.

Re: Luke Dunstan to be traded?
Armo himself took a very long time to get going, and how he's pretty highly regarded around here. I haven't been happy with Dunstan's output for the last couple of years, but players don't generally kick on until they've played 50 games. I'm hoping that's the case with Luke, who I gather is now up t...

I still find it very odd that they play the away team's song. Really odd.
FWIW I think the GWS song is great!

The whole Sydney and Queensland AFL thing is basically a fantasy. GWS look certain to win a few premierships over the next decade or so, with a team full of Victorians, and the only meaning it will have is in terms of the additional money the AFL got through TV rights by dint of being a "natio...

He had a really good year a couple of years ago too. It was 2015, wasn't it? It's great to see him back to that form.

It's fantastic that he finally kicked a bag. Let him kick a couple more of 5 plus and then bring him back.

If we want to play finals he should play on. He's still well and truly in the best 22. He has bad knees, but he has had them for years.

Re: Membery
Paddy does get up the ground - he has actually been quite good between the arcs. He has a good field kick that sets others up well. Look at the game where he got marks (Round 9, 2016, Essendon) - I believe that game he spent a lot of time roaming. [But I could be wrong] You're right, he has been go...

Yes, Benny was traded. He didn't ask to leave. He's given us no reason to dislike him. I hope he has a successful remainder of his career on a personal front, but that the Hawks continue to fail.

So are you saying Paddy's no good then?
On a more serious note, I would also expect Steele to kick and run with the ball more. He was always looking to handball in the JLT and I put it down to fitness.

I'm really enjoying this. It's great when it's another team's losses that lead to a better pick for us.

He's yet to be tested against a top level forward, but so far has been very solid. He has a great presence back there and is also useful at ground level and with the ball in hand.

When Tim took a mark out on the wing I remarked to my friend that that was what Paddy needed to do if not getting his hands on it on the forward 50. Nothing wrong with chasing a kick when you're having a bad one. Membrey though has shown great hands and ability to cover ground. As carn_sainter said,...

I had no problem with the Pies fans in my vicinity today. I generally find Carlton ones to be worse.

Billings was much better today. Last week I checked the AFL app during the quarter to smcheck if he was actually playing or not. Today he was much more prominent and, with multiple shots at goal a positive sign.

I haven't seen any 1%er stats, but he'd surely be right up near the top. He does a lot of things which aren't reflected in the regular stats.
