Even if we trade for a ruckman we should still draft one to develop, even if in the rookie draft. Apparently the Saints have their eye on one of the lesser known ruckmen in the draft, could be Stefan Martin. In any case I would not be disappointed if we did no trading at all. We have not had a lot o...

Schneider and Buchanan, both are very adept at staging for free kicks, which they get wearing Sydney jumpers but probably would'nt in Saints jumpers. Forget them both. Keep No. 9 for a kid in the draft.

Did Sheehan pick the All Australian team?
He also has 9 Geelong players in the first 22. He also has Nick Riewaldt just missing out. Coincidence?

As I have posted elsewhere, Ben McEvoy played full forward in the TAC Cup Grand Final as was soundly beaten by Travis DULIC, who received a late invitation to the State Screening. Dulic is 192cm and 90cm. Described as "Big solid kid who is a bit of an old style FB. Defence very good. Pace is OK...

Apparently this years Selwood is a crash and bash type in Junior Footy. Not the same as his brothers. I would prefer Rioli, who is also a forward as well as on-baller. Very clever apparently.

In this years TAC Cup McEvoy played FF and was beaten by Travis Dulic. Dulic might be a future FB for us? Worth a look.

The wrong two in my opinion. Attard will go straight onto the long-term injured list and remain there for most of the season. Jones, well I believe that Howard will be able to play the role he filled this year, and hopefully do a better job of it. That is if we dont recruit a really fast kid in the ...

Jaryn Geary

Found this thread on Big Footy re Jaryn Geary. Explains why he had a slow start to the season, getting over a broken arm. Should be first rookie promoted. 21st September 2006, 14:52 #2 Thurry BigFooty Member Join Date: Jun 2006 Re: Jaryn Geary!!!!!!! -------------------------------------------------...

I would have thought the Saints would be offering for trade someone who has not been able to crack our Senior side, like Brooks and Watts, rather than players who are regulars in the Senior side. Although Gehrig going may save these two.

Ferguson who was recruited as a forward, may be the man to play the Hamill role. I would like to see him given a go there anyway. I dont know why Lennby Hayes waas included on the list as a small forward. Never plays there except when resting. Harvs probably spends more time on the HF line than any ...

I am not sure about Jimmy Gwilt for permanent fullback. Probably about 5cm too short. We need to pick up a tall key defender in the draft. There are a few there, Alex Rance and Tayte Pears from W.A., Scott Gaetner, Dan McKenna, Chris Kangars, Travis Dulic, from Vic., Joseph Daye Qld., plus a number ...

I was there today also. The main point seems to be that the current board has not been spending enough on the football side of things. I believe we also did well with Sam Gilbert. Last years picks may still end up alright (I hope). This year we need to pick up players to fill future weaknesses, like the retirement of Max and Harvs, a future ruckman, etc. Not the best available. We need to put more thought into our selections than t...

Pleasantly surprised to see Jimmy Gwilt get a Brownlow vote. He only played a handfull of games. That vote puts him in front on many who played every game and never got amongst the best even once.
