Re: Draftees 2014

McCartin looks big enough to play seniors next year, though maybe not all the time, maybe 11-15 games depending on how he goes. Hopefully next year we'll see Spencer White build on his first two games, more from Dunstan and Billings, plus see what Acres can do. At best I see 5 wins next year, so we ...

Re: Saints homeward bound!!

180,000+ vehicles use the Monash daily, or you can just put it up above St.Kilda junction, those options would be much more attractive than facing Fitzroy Street. Don't forget Cricket Victoria has the Junction Oval and their sponsors will take priority over ours. I didn't realise there was an optio...

Re: Saints homeward bound!!

I can see it now in Fitzroy street, will I spend my money with this ice dealer, or wait, look the St.Kilda footy club is back, I'll run over there with all these other 1,000's of people to buy something. As for the Grand Prix, I'm sure they will take the international television coverage off the rac...

Re: Debt recovery - what's happening?

One thing is to get those 10,000 members back we lost. Hope they can take pride in their action, especially those who spit the dummy and cancelled their membership like a petulant child. Two, we need a big sponsor to inject some cash into the club. Three, we need hope, to get some of those members b...

Re: Saints homeward bound!!

The JO would be transformative for us. And i dont think the players would give stuff whether its Ian Johnson or the Junction. Theyd love to be training and working there. Wed be the employer of choice for footy players and coaches Australia wide. And our current sponsorship situation is dire. It ca...

Re: Saints homeward bound!!

SO we are going to make millions by simply training near the Junction Oval, all thgis exposure will bring sponsors running to us just so they can put up a billboard on Fitzroy Street. If that's case, please explain Richmond's lack of success despite their prime location on the corner of Punt Road an...

I agree, he is exactly what we need, especially with Lenny just departed, plus when was the last time we had a goal kicking mid fielder.

Re: Saints homeward bound!!

Well 59 million is a serious commitment, look despite my reservations, I would like to see it be a success, it would be great assuming it is done right. Mind you, if we had been allowed to re develop Moorabbin the way we wanted to do, we probably wouldn't have been involved with this. As for Geelong...

Again pre season draft

As it looks pretty much a certainty we will pick Petracca with our number one pick, who is there worth using our number one pick in the pre season draft on?

Re: Saints homeward bound!!

I dont give a flying fig which party wins but I am absolutely 100% and million fold behind a shift to and rejuvenation of the JO. Grow some CAHOONAS. We will rot a death in Seaford and Moorabin aint much better. This is a national comp now. Yes its a national comp but I have no idea why that means ...

Re: Stadium experiences? what would you add - take away

If we can't have a curtain raiser, then they should have a game on live on the scoreboard that is currently in play. Not an hour and half of adds and a replay of a game from years ago.
I like the saint logo idea, maybe you should pitch that directly to the club.

Re: Quick poll: How do you feel about the Rhys trade?

I believed he could have been anything, and with what Geelong can offer may fulfil his potential. Sad to lose him, but have faith in the recruiters who are in a better position than me to make decisions like this. Just remember the deal that really got Hawthorn going was the trade of Trent Croad and...

Re: Rhys Stanley for Pick #21

Then thing is with Rhys, out of him, Longer and Hickey, Rhys is the only one who can actually play forward and kick goals regularly.
I personally would not like to lose him, unless we can get a definite replacement.

Re: Boyd requests trade to Bulldogs - How did we miss this??

Personally all I can see a crackdown from the AFL to make players honour their contracts a bit more, seems a lot of players, and young players at that are spitting the dummy and wanting out just because of minor things. This will not be good for the game or teams like us.

Re: McCartney resigned from Dogs

Just so nice not to be at the centre of controversy, just amazing what is happening, so now the Suns and Bulldogs now looking for new coaches. So hope the Suns pinch Thompson from the East Germans as that will completely stuff them up, especially if Hird gets the flick.

Re: Malthouse assistants

Actually thought McKenna was incredibly hard done by, if Ablett hadn't got injured and they played finals, there's no way he would have got the chop. Now they are in limbo as to whether they get Thompson, which I hope they do and completely screw the East Germans up. Also thought the Lions dropped V...

Re: Walkouts at Dogs, Pies, Cats, Blues, Dons...

I have never known a trade period where more good players are requesting trades from their club.
Though it is nice it is not happening to us, in fact one reasonable young guy has even requested to come to us, despite Seaford.

Re: Official Saints Trade thread

Of course one must remember just because a player nominates a club, there is no guarantee he will get there. Interesting day 2 over and it appears no trades have been done other than free agency. Is Membrey out of contract at Sydney, because if he is, all he has to do nominate for the pre season dra...
