I was talking to the President of the Seymour Football Club a few weeks ago at a conference. He told me that this guy was a gun and trained with Carlton. His trouble is that he hates training. A few seasons ago Carlton played and intra-club match and this guy turned up late and Pagan refused to let ...

No surprises that we are the Melbourne based club with the most interstate away games. We have 6! Geelong, Melbourne, Richmond and the Bulldogs all have 5. Melbourne and the Bulldogs also play home games interstate (but that is their problem). All other teams have four interstate away trips. Every M...

No...you would never receive those draft picks to trade them away. Why wouldn't you receive the picks? ...because you've been penalised! Your punishment is loss of draft picks. IMO, If the AFL decides to punish the Eagles this draft then they could only take away those picks allocated to the Eagles...

There are two obvious strategies that the AFL could employ to even up the FIXture. - The first is to leave the current 22 rounds and split the 16 teams into two groups of eight. These must remain for a long time. Each team plays the seven other teams in it's pool twice and the eight teams in the oth...

If this suggestion came to fruition then the AFL would be all over it. What is suggested here is draft tampering. It would actually suit Carlton's style to think themselves above the league rules (once again). The Jade Rawlings deal a few years ago was made to ensure that Rawlings went into the pre-...

Let's face it, there is a massive restriction on these young blokes. He was forced (not requested, but forced) to go to the other side of the country to practise his chosen career at 18 years old. I don't remember the footage of him being frog marched into the draft camp. To my mind the decision to...
