Re: A technical question
Sounds like you know a bit about it Vergs. It also sounds like if your home ground is the Hootchie then you need to have a management system that doesn't rely on the GPS technology. You mentioned the accelerometers and so are there any clubs using this to circumvent the technical issues. Do the Sai...

Re: A technical question
Questions I have are: Does anybody know anything about the GPS technology that AFL clubs use? What actually does the device look like that the players wear in there jumper? Clearly it is near the neck and between the shoulder blades. Is it small? The device I imagine is padded and designed so that ...

Re: IDIOTIC INTERCHANGE LIMIT!
So do you have any proof? Its your opinion and mine. I'm currently doing a thesis on training loads in AFL football and that's my opinion based on the research I've read. I'm no more right or wrong than you or anyone else at this early stage but I don't believe that the introduction of such a rule ...

Re: IDIOTIC INTERCHANGE LIMIT!
Well there is no data to suggest either way and you must think every AFL club has poor doctors. And SK why do you hate to say it opened up the game. Is it because you may be agreeing with me or the AFL may have got something right? I think the AFL are being very creative with their statistics if th...

Re: IDIOTIC INTERCHANGE LIMIT!
Absolutely ridiculous rule which guarantees that it will be enforced in the 2014 home and away season. Funny but the last quarter was clearly the best to watch for the game. Great rule and hope it comes in next year. I dont think it should be 20 a quarter though. 80 for the game is what it should b...

Re: Gym
the difference between strength and power is time. eg..2 people can bench press a maximum of 100kgs (thay have the same strength) player 1 can lift it in 3 seconds where as player 2 takes 10 seonds to lift.. therefore player 1 is more powerful So it's like speed? A function of time? How does endura...

Thanks for that report, Vergs - did you see much of Curren (43). I'm interested in his progress 8-) Curren was ok but he did spend a fair bit of time on the bench today. He has quite a solid build for someone of his age and height and he seems to use it quite well in close. He laid a couple of good...

Siposs/Smith? 'Heyne in the reserves? Didn't get to see the Ressies. Siposs kicked a great goal and had a few quality disposals but didn't really feature consistently. Much like most of his time in the AFL I guess. Seems like he is the type of player who can be effective when he has some space but ...

Pretty average day for Sandy with not many positives to speak of. As per usual it was quite windy at the Northern Oval and North Ballarat used their home ground knowledge to play the conditions far more effectively. Sandringham's use of the ball was shocking therefore it was difficult to get a gauge...

Gilbert went for scans today...any info on that? If pendelbury doesn't come up it would be a massive massive plus Just a guess but Gilbert looked a bit proppy as he got up off the ground after the final siren so it could be a precautionary measure. It may have just been soreness but it did seem lik...

Has any club had to deal with as much turmoil in one season as we have in 2010? - Andrew Lovett case and subsequent sacking - Luke Ball fallout - Milne/Malthouse altercation - Riewoldt injury - Schoolgirl sex scandal - Loss of an assistant coach - Milne/Montagna case developments - Baker suspension ...

I think Kosi is worth persevering with. He's not clunking the strong marks like we know he can but from what I've seen I believe he is working his arse off. He is running hard to create a contest and he is applying some big tackles in the forward 50. Kosi more than anyone in the side is a confidence...

I'm not sure whether I agree with GT or not on this one but as many have pointed out on here Kosi tends to be judged more on his stellar month of footy a few years back rather than what he has consistently been able to produce since. If he plays forward then he will get more of the ball supplied to ...

Training over the next couple of weeks...
Does anyone have any information about our training schedule over the next couple of weeks? My Dad is over here from the Netherlands for the first time in 5 years and he is desperate for a Saints fix. He'd love to go to a training session so if anyone knows when our open sessions are then any inform...

Post game footage from the prelim
Does anyone have any footage or a link to any footage of the boys reactions on the ground and the singing of the song in the rooms after the game? Unfortunately Fox Sports haven't included any of the post game footage on their replay. I missed most of it after being caught in a massive group hug amo...

There will probably be quite a bit of speculation due to his history of knee issues and how vital he is to our team but the way he ran out the last quarter on Sunday suggests that it wasn't anything major. Fingers crossed that it isn't one of those innocuous incidents that turns out to be something ...

There will be some tough selection decisions coming up if our good run with injury continues but ultimately it's an ideal situation for the club to be in. Having all of Hudghton, Dawson and Blake in may not be the right balance against a lot of teams. Our rebound from defence has been fantastic so I...
