While it gets a fraction looser with each and every glorious win, it will remain shut until we have the lead when that final siren in September rings!

GO SAINTS!!!

Don't get cocky!

Sorry to be fun police, but someone has to say it... We deserve to be favourites on Monday night, we deserve to be enjoying our top spot on the ladder and we also deserve to take a lot of confidence into this match, but lets please not get cocky! I'm positive the playing group not only has the matur...

I have no problem with the majority of the media tipping against us. Despite our favourism, logic would suggest that the dogs are screaming for a rebound. That and our form against them from the previous two rounds. Frankly, the more the media don't rate us, the happier I am. Even though we deserve ...

From memory, they've usually played well against us when we were favourites, but we kicked dirt in their face when they were highly fancied. Memories of the former are the obvious Round 12, 2004, Round 3, 2008 and the infamous draw of Round 18, 2007. Memories of the later are Round 22, 2006 and Roun...

Couldn't have summed it up better myself. But I think you'll find most fellow Sainter's feel the same, as they have witnessed too many seasons that ended in "what should have" or "what could have been". I think the 2005 pre-lim was just as, if not even more bruising than the 04, ...

I'm usually one of the first to suggest the usual, that we keep the lid screwed on tight and we take it one week at a time, etc, and I still do even as I type this post. However, just because the lid is on doesn't mean I can't still enjoy the moment. I'm beside myself, things haven't been this good ...

We all get greedy and would love to see us kick dirt in their face from go to woe...

However, we are TOP of the table, UNDEFEATED with a percentage of 211!

FINALLY, we gave our bogey team on our bogey ground the long, overdue smashing we owed them.

I'm going to ENJOY IT! :D

Yes, It's great to get Friday Night football live in Sydney, the only reason why I have Foxtel. What does irk me however, is the Ch7 Sunday match. If the Swans or Lions are playing the Sunday afternoon on Foxtel, Ch7 will also show that match in the Northern markets, making me wait till 3:00am the n...

Just you wait!

If we lose on Friday night, those that thrive off the negativity will be rearing their ugly heads with both guns blazing and out will roll the usual sack RL threads, etc!

They're just waiting to pounce.

It most certainly is and it has happened before (ala, Eagles game last year) but I believe the playing group has not only learned from their past mistakes but has matured to the stage of not taking anything for granted. Complacency is also something Ross Lyon never stands for.

Know one had anything to say about his conversion rate when he kicked 6.1 during our round 17 against the Hawks, our when he kicked 5.0 against the Pies in the semi or 3.0 in ten minutes against the Hawks in the pre-lim.

Too lethal in attack, especially when firing, keep him there.

Roo did spill a heap of the pill last night, though Bolton has always played well on him. Again, without being an expert, I put it down to a lack of a pre season and Roo still having some rust in his joints to shake off which may well take a few more rounds.

Excellent post and some good questions. I think with Xavier - poor management in his first few years at the club. He put on a lot of bulk and it put too much pressure on his muscles, which were not strengthened enough .... and the hamstrings became a problem. Once you've had a few of the same soft ...

Hi All, I woke up today super excited that the season proper begins for us this Saturday night. Regardless of how you feel 09 will be for us, let's charge our glasses, dust of the match day guernsey and train our vocal cords for the beginning of what should be another roller coaster ride.
