Wins After Trailing at Halftime

This year we've won five games after trailing at halftime. (Richmond, Kangaroos, Hawthorn, Port, Fremantle) And won once after being level at halftime. (Sydney). However we've only lost two games after leading at halftime. (Bulldogs & West Coast) So 11 wins from 7 half time leads shows that we a...

All five ins possibly playing for their future at the club....

Despite it being an interstate game, I'd rather see Allen, Steven, Armitage & McEvoy instead of Gardiner, Clarke, Rix & Ferguson.

It was an injection of youth that got us over the line vs Freo last time.

I was lucky enough to win the after match social club raffle, after a game vs North at Waverley in 1994. I was 11. The prize, Harvey's match jumper signed, presented by the great man. It means more to me than anything else I own.

Perfect way to overcome this problem - kick the goal in the first place. Then opposition don't get a kick out. If you kick a point, you give up the ball, bad luck.

Must win 5. Should win 6.

I see North winning 5 more games, Collingwood winning 3-4 and Carlton winning one.

These games will shape the bottom 2 of the 8....
Carlton vs St.Kilda R15 MCG
Nth Melb vs Collingwood R16 MCG
Collingwood vs St.Kilda R19 MCG
Carlton vs Nth Melb R20 TD

Sorry. I didn't realise I had to adhere to exact figures.

I was just thinking of some good comebacks over the past decade.

I thought winning from 24 pts down with ten minutes left wasn't bad.

The last decent comebacks I can think of are..

2001, R22 vs Hawthorn @ MCG, 24pts down with 10 mins left, won by 2 pts after the siren.

1999, R10 vs Geelong @ SS, 40 pts down midway through the 3rd quarter, won by 10pts.

Nothing in recent times though.

Goals?

Although I am happy with the changes to the side this week, I'll be interested to see who bobs up to kick us a few goals tonight.... Our Top 8 Goal Kickers For 2008 S.Milne 27.19 (not playing tonight) N.Riewoldt 21.16 J.Koschitzke 19.9 (not playing tonight) A.Schneider 11.6 (not playing tonight) F.G...

"tackling someone after they manage to pass the ball to a team mate "

Pretty sure that wouldn't be counted as a tackle, more likely a free kick.[/quote]

No forward pressure? Koschitzke ranks 5th in tackles for the club. Milne 6th. While 3 of our top 4 tacklers often rest up forward. We've had more scoring shots than our opposition. We've scored more in the first 11 rounds than what we did in 2005, 2006 & 2007. Forward line pressure isn't St.Kild...

McEvoy must get a game this week or at least be an emergency. We were badly exposed last week having no talls in the emergencies. We must play a tall that is near 100% fit, King and Koschitzke are battling injury, Riewoldt is still not at peak fitness and M.Gardiner is playing the best he has for us...

i'd like to know their accuracy rate per SHOT rather than per scoring shot. I'd be confident in saying that Riewoldt and Koschitzke have had several shots that have not scored this year.

Tackling & 2nd Quarters

Having a look over our stats for 2008 a couple of things stand out. Tackling & 2nd Quarters. I'd obverserved over the past few games our poor tackling technique, players tackle the hips but fail to pin the arms, it seems as though the tackler is only focussed on grabbing the player rather than d...

1995 round 6, lost to fitzroy at waverley, it was confirmed that all the promise of the early 90's had come to nothing.

2002 round 4, drove all the way down to geelong to see us smashed by 122 points.

and of course 97.

I tend to agree that Jason Blake has a massive heart, and his endevour can't be questioned. His skills and decision making need to be developed further for him to become a consistantly effective footballer, but he isn't far away. Having said that, I think his inclusion in the side often comes down b...

Rounds 1-11 vs Rounds 12-22

Since our amazing start to the 2004 season, our first halves of the season have been pretty ordinary compared to the second half.
