He's too one sided (like Sam Gilbert) and not being fleet of foot, gets caught too much. Hand-passing is woeful. He still has a lot of learning to do, knowing when and where to run. At training, the coaching staff has to tell him where to run and urge him to second try. Harsh to say, but I don't thi...

Is that Hughie Mitchell or Keith Michell?

Bartel, Chapman and Scarlett are top three for mine. Two of them didn't play against us in the NAB cup; may it be so in Round 4.

I hope you mean round 5! Or perhaps they'll have two losses in a row.

Other than that, your analysis is pretty spot on!

What's your view of us?

Melbourne, Richmond and Carlton.
I agree, but of these we only play Carlton twice. Of the six interstate clubs we play FIVE away. Just as well we finished nineth otherwise we would have got a hard draw, sorry FIXTURE!

Healey Street is at the end of Central Avenue, go right towards the Oval and you will see a little reservation which contains the path that leads to Horscroft Place. It's a bit longer via South Road but harder to get lost.

It's only a matter of time. He's a beauty. One of the (many) advantages of being at the game is to see how players anticipate the flow of the game. To some extent this is innate in players, which is why some shine earlier than others. Whatever is the case, J Geary "has it". As I have said ...

Yes and no. AFL HQ has them, but as it turns out they are at the ground of last night. The entrance is near the Ch 7 studios. ...and as for Fraser's beard, I thought it suited him, then again, I can't understand why any man drags a sharp blade across his face each day in order to look like a woman o...

Yes, he does. It was somewhat ironic last night to watch both Chris Judd and Luke Ball suffering from (hopefully) the after-effects of OP. Neither is anywhere near their previous capacity in terms of kicking. Of course, endeavour remains with them, and maybe I am biased, but Luke Ball has always bee...

Lenny's comeback

Most players take a good 12 months to fully recover from knee reconstructions and then another 6 months or so to get the confidence and strength back into kicking. And so it has been for Lenny (injured round 10 (?) 2006). Now, he is on the ground for most of the time and as the pace of the game rece...

Yep - got my top votes. Seems the only willing to go for marks and then runs sensationally. No wonder he was stuffed at the end. If there is a better defender in the game at the moment I don't know who it is.

4. X Clarke
3. L Hayes
2. M Gardiner
1. L Fisher

Mentions to M Hudghton, J Blake, S King and Geary - for a guy playing just his second game he was great - will move into the midfield in the not too distant future.

Finished the game on the bench. Hope it was just fatigue. Most of the frees were there - very difficult for a backman these days, unless you are playing on Roo - few rules apply there.

Fishers were great, with Sam on the bench at the end too.

Not much support for Thomo getting a bigger send off. I thought he was a fantastic player - 100% effort who really worked on and improved his skills, not up himself and a real team player. If you're into role models, he would have been it.

So, who will (should?) wear number 4 next?

It was a game to watch, so maybe there is hope for the game after all (after last week's shocker, which I hated). I thought the skills of the Pies were very good as usual (especially kicking, including set shots). Malthouse sure knows how to get the best out of an average ability list, getting them ...
