Was funny and harmless.
So what if we have only won 4 games if that's Harley's reasoning as to not do it. Probably more reason to do it.
Good for the game.

Re: Game thread Saints vs Freo
Unbelievable. Where has that team been over the last 3 months?
Like we were playing in opposite guernseys.
Very enjoyable to watch. Loved Longer showing Clarke the scoreboard in the last.

Dal did want to stay so that is different. Ball and Goddard hopefully feel a bit worse for hearing the great man say it.

Greatest Saint- Trevor Barker...Fortius Quo Fidelius.
Greatest player- Tony Lockett
Hayes will rank among the greats of the club but a fair way behind these two and Robert Harvey IMO.

I don't get the changes like others have posted.
Dunnell stays in. Tanking.
Minchington out. Tanking.
Fisher back on after one game. Wow!

TDL and Dunnell would be certainties to be omitted. Gwilt was poor.
Bruce is probably a lock to bring in.
I'd bring Acres straight in.
In: Hayes, Acres, Bruce, Simpkin, Curren
Out: TDL, Dunnell, Gwilt, Roberton, Ray

Accelerate the learning rather than decimate the confidence...it's an education and can be handled as such. Play him. One can just as easily argue against gifting games to players who won't be around next year.

Maybe not forever...depends how many we turn over at years end. 4 delistings leap out at me without thinking about retirements...he might be safe. Just.

Re: Time to Play White
I watched the game today on TV here in NZ and was thinking this exact thing. Even if he's not ready what harm is it going to do. Play him and tell him he won't be dropped for the rest of the year just like the doc told Harves. TDL had 3 Quarters and showed that he's taking someone's spot. Dunnell ha...

Re: what do we have of trade value?
Nothing is the short answer. Trading the likes of Steven, Armo or Monty would be idiotic given the state and average age of our list. Apart from the young ones we want and need there's no one any other club would want for more than a set of steak knives. Picks 1 and 19 or 2/20..whatever...will be ni...

Mine was at the Western Oval 1979. Even though we used to go alright there as a rule, we copped some almighty hidings there too. The year before I didn't go to thr record breaker at the Western Oval in 78 when Templeton went beserk, but in 79 we had lost a lot of players like the Elliots and Ditter...

Re: Our lowest score since 1957
28th of April, 1979. Victoria Park, Filthsville. Collingwood 31.21.207 def. St.Kilda 3.11.29. The darkest experience of my saints supporting life. Somehow even outranks the GF losses. Me and seven mates had to fight our way out, too. At the time it was a record winning margin in the VFL. Thank good...

Also less dew on the grass. Definitely agree...first thing I thought of. Earlier timeslot will appeal more to local crowds used to earlier finishes with rugby games as highlighted in the article and families as well. Hope it is a genuine day game. Won't clash with Pies/Bombers but might upset their...

Re: New Zealand this time round compared to last year??
There was nowhere near as many people walking around town and waterfront as last year dressed in footy colours...if I had to put a number on it about 1/4 of presence around the town. Far fewer Lions fans than Swans fans in attendance too. Shop keepers, concierge, bus drivers etc all friendly enough ...

Couldn't believe it when I saw the ball flying over his head and bounce away as I turned my head. Thought to myself how did Savage manage that as was a regulation hand back... Great time to give away 50...not. Thought he'd be a great pick up but is looking like a front runner to me and we're no Hawt...
