Re: Best Saints wingmen in the past 50 years?

Only other decent wingman that hasn't been mentioned so far would be John Manzie. John played 117 games for the Saints between 1967 and 1975 including the 1971 Grand Final.

Re: Best Saints Ruckman of the past 50 years?

Big Carl probably the best over the last 50 years.

Other good ruckman over this period included Brian Mynott, Jeff Sarau, Gary Sidebottom and Spider Everitt.

Plugger kicked 10.7 v Carlton in Round 2 at Moorabbin.
I suppose that is the equivalent of 11.1

Re: Life or death?

Bill Shankly the famous Liverpool Manager once said "Some people think football is a matter of life and death. I don't like that attitude. I can assure them it is much more serious than that. If you are first you are first. If you are second you are nothing" I have followed this club since...

Re: Hutchy the genius

Anyone who has any interest in football would know that Paddy and the Bont were not in the same draft. I don't expect much from Hutchy but I'm surprised that none of the other members on the panel did not pick him up on it. And they wonder why the ratings on the Footy show have dropped significantly...

Don't think we are ever going to play a match again at Moorabbin for premiership points.

I'm not sure of the plans for the redevelopment but I'd bet my last dollar it wont include grandstands for 20,000 supporters.

Re: Jaxons come on down

Don't know if it means anything but Nick Dal Santo was having coffee this morning at Mr. Brightside in Caulfield with Ameet Baines.
Maybe they were catching up for a chat for old times sake or maybe there is something more involved.

Re: Can an ITK please confirm? ...

Mark Scott wasn't too bad. He had 2 fairly good years.
In 1980 he kicked 48 from 13 games and in 1982 45 goals from 12 games.
However I agree the less said about King the better. Played a whole 4 games for us.

Good question.

My mate won the auction for Lewis Pierce's jumper as he has only played the one game and was wondering the same thing.

Re: Trevor barker Award Night - Thurs 1 Sept

Was a great evening last night. All speakers were interesting and there was a buzz in the air for 2017 and what it may bring. I went to the VIP function which was an opportunity to meet and speak to the players beforehand. Spoke to Roo , Mav, Joey , Bruce and a few others. All were willing to chat a...

Re: Brendon Judas Goddard

Great post evertonfc. Goddard may have moved on but he did play over 200 games for our club. Lenny and him did everything possible to get us across the line in 2009 and 2010. Although I will not cheer him on Sunday, I will also not boo him. Deep down I think he realises he made a mistake going to Es...

Been to Bali , Singapore and Hawaii . Hawaii is best by miles. Great weather all year round ( there is no such thing as Winter) , great beaches , great shopping , the most magnificent people, and any type of food that you desire. If you want the hustle and bustle go to Oahu Island and Waikiki beach,...

Re: Jake Carlisle

Carlisle should be a good pick up , no doubt about it. However with all our grandstanding over the last week and a bit , all we have managed to do is get Carlisle for the equivalent of pick 8. To me that is way above what we should have paid. Essendon & Sydney got the better deal. Why did we cav...

Re: Jake Carlisle

Still conflicting reports on whether we got 44.
If we didn't then we have given up a pick between 8 or 9 for Carlisle , which is overs.
Did we cave in at the end and not get 44?
If that is the case then we got our man for a bloody big price.

Re: Jake Carlisle

Deal not as good as was mooted last night. We didn't end up getting pick 44 back , only got 14.
So 5 & 24 out , Carlisle and 14 in.
Equivalent of about pick 10 or 11 overall on the points system

Re: 2015 - Draft & Trade Thread

The way it is heading we will give pick 5 and get Carlisle and either their pick 23 or 25. That's where it will probably finish. With the points system we will be getting Carlisle for the equivalent of pick 15 or 16 depending on whether we get 23 or 25 back. That pick will probably be then offloaded...

Pick 5 could be available for Treloar. Rumour ( quite strong ) is that Treloar has cooled on the pies and we are in with a big chance.
