Re: Forward Line
Collard King Membrey Wilson Caminiti Henry Int. Higgins Sharman Lot of goals there. That's not how we roll. Forget about the fact that we can score quickly when we play attacking footy. Forget about the fact that we scored only 6 goals in 3 quarters playing Saints Footy ( the players call it playin...

Re: Arie SCHOENMAKER
Sharman isn’t ordinary he’s just being asked to be an everywhere man atm and that’s a tough gig Let him settle as a forward and he’ll do fine The way Sharman is being used at the moment threatens to ruin him as a player. Richardson and Ratten did a similar thing to Battle, trying to turn him into a...

Re: Trade King
Winning premierships is a team thing, and that includes the coach, and no one player is responsible. In thinking about Max, I think he plays like a skilled 200cm flanker and not a KPP, and that's the problem- we need a better option as a FF, maybe Membrey should be parked there full time, and that's...

Re: In Garcia, Windhager Out Hastie Jones
It's not really fair on young players if they continually get made sub. They're virtually on stand by and sacrifice their individual needs for the needs of the team. We made Jack Bytel the sub 4 times early last year. It messes with these guys form. Jack Steele was out with a broken collarbone and ...

Re: In Garcia, Windhager Out Hastie Jones
I thought Butler just wasn't in the play enough last week, and Jones probably did better. Caminiti will probably need to have a better game, but I think Lyon is probably seeing him as a backup to Roma

Re: How do we fix the forward line?
A combination of things. Midfield is a problem sure, but I think Lyon has the forward half in a defensive mindset, and seem more intent on jostling one on one or blocking the backs than making space and leading hard. Ball carriers coming through the middle, need targets, and our forwards just play b...

I reckon at this stage in his career, what you see now is about it. Athletic tall forward, who kicks a few goals here and there. We need another strong forward KPP at CHF

Here's one for you Tony 74, just watched Ross on Talking Footy. He is very good. We are in good hands. Just need the players to do their bit. Not the reliable stalwarts, the peripherals. (Do you think they can). We may not make finals but we will end up with a new group of new young guns, which wil...

Re: Changes for tge Richmond at Gather Round.
I thought our forward line was cr@p last week, Higgo got a few but jeez over four quarters, they just didn't seem to work together at all. I'm not sure how moving Sharman all over the ground to plug gaps, is going to help his development. I would bring Campbell in just for extra body strength to get...

Re: Sandy V Essendon
I remember in a game when Ratts was coach, he swung Battle into the ruck and had an immediate impact. I don't think Owen is a second ruck or a midfielder, and I don't know what his best position is. Roma is good around the ground, but doesn't hit his midfielders on the chest very often in his tap wo...

Re: Cooked
Neither of our two big deficiencies have looked like being addressed from last season- not kicking big enough scores, and a weak midfield..the midfield having largely been responsible for our two losses. Doesn't mater what you lose by, we lost two out of three games, and need to pick up the pace a l...

Re: Half back our achille's heel again ...
Yesterday, and in the Geelong game, the defensive game of the forwards and midfield was poor. The work off the ball was weak, as was the tackling. Lot of work to do.

Crouch was proppy going into the Geelong game, and it cost us in the midfield, and may have just cost us the game. Hope he gets over the knee ok- a good opportunity for others to step in.

Re: Arie Schoenmaker to debut?
Hope Max gets off with a fine. As far as Arie goes, one good game in the twos doesn't guarantee you much, surely he needs to string a few good games together before considered for senior selection. If Butler is fit enough, he would come in for Henry, and if Max does sit it out for a week, then I wou...

Re: Round 2 - Saints be Pies - Match Day thread
The midfield is stop and prop once they lose possession. Windy is trying hard, but none of the midfield is controlling the ball. The forward line is all over the shop- playing from behind, out of position. We have two strong marks in King and Membrey who won't play in front for some reason, trying t...

Re: Roma
Hit outs are some what overrated. That said how many complete ruckmen are there in the league- centre square , around the ground and possessions. Considering there are on average maybe 25-30 centre sq ball ups it is a trade off to some extent and he wins some of these, so say it is 10 v 20 but Roma...

It was a night of sh%t umpiring, but we also got a few gifts and one may have resulted in a goal to us. Those umpires should all be sent up the bush this week
