Re: Sav
his workrate was my worry. In the eagles match a month back he refused to work off the ball to present. Since then his fitness and running has gone up a step. Decsision making and kicking always there. Needs to step up to the midfield in a years time IMO but well done shane.

Re: On the Couch tomorrow
From listening to this i question the analysis. How about why mini played finals whilst being out of form when armo had played his best game only weeks before. Why did lyons manager not know. Would he have stayed for same amount??

Re: What's our gameplan?
I would be worried that richo was spending too much time of a specific game plan as these change yearly. Where we are at is developing a game theme, a set of outcomes the players need to work towards. Contested ball, tackles, hitting targets etc. Beating your man one on one etc. I think the reason w...

Re: Match Thread - Saints v Port
That's it, I'm done. Why bother when players get frees when it's obvious you miss the head. That's soul destroying. I hate football right now, it's full of cheats and bias. Yes we are bad, yes we have lots out, yes we are getting a belting but for gods sake just do you job AS A PROFESSIONAL. I would...

Re: Match Thread - Saints v Port
Thoughts Midfield is working very hard, bit stiff umpiring wise and the usage has been terrible. But after a flat start they worked themselves into it. Focus needs to keep being winning the clearances. Some of the spread in the second quarter was a lot better. mav weller will make it, can shut down ...

Re: How did Port recover so quickly?
Will have a look at the same time span..... Say their 2007 is our 2010, four years later their 2011 is our 2014..... thus their 2014 top four is 2017..... not far away from where we are looking at being. Interesting to look at their 2008 list compared to our 2011/12 list. Would be important to note ...

Love the comment that we have not developed as quickly as Melbourne.... um come on, they are three to four years of drafting ahead of us. Add in the extra injuries, dumb comment.

Apart from inside 50's we are covering them for most stats. Getting killed in the contested ball which is what I want to see us improve in the second half

Re: Game Thread v GC Suns
Where do people actually think we are at. If roles were reversed and our list looked like theirs and they were missing a good chunk of their senior players then I would be disappointed with anything less. Yes there are some skill problems but the rest of the season is a chance to test whether long t...

Re: Team v Gold Coast
Would understand if they were all soft tissue but curious what the club could do about jacks foot, armos lacerated knee, geary and eli's broken arms. Fishers body was known to be close to being shot. Hickeys and gilbos injuries seem to the be only ones they could have perhaps had done better on but ...

Re: Billings will be our best player by 2016
Most exciting part of the night tonight for mine was when billings took a mark on the wing in the last, had a player open but would have to kick on his right. In the context of a game where the likes of gibbs, riewoldt, simpson all struggled on their non preferred he took the tougher road, hit him u...

Billings will be our best player by 2016
This kid is the most exciting young player I have seen since rooey played under blight. Marks very well for his size, his left foot is amazing and yet his right is more then serviceable. Knows where to position himself to take advantage of the hard ball get and will kick ALOT of goals. Can't wait fo...

Re: Carlton Game Thread
Bit confused, a good 6-8 first 22 are out, we have tons of players with less then 20 games. Billings is exciting, acres plays like a footballer already. Dunstan in a manchild. Longer so raw but exciting in patches. Sipposs game something as the game went along. Delaney looks the goods at full back. ...

Re: Again on the Ruckman
So big mart, if the ruckman are so unimportant then doesn't that suggest the trading period was a success? We were able to gain a GOP at best midfielder (he was a emergency for grand final side), a top 20 talent (dunstan) and a upgrade to a top 20 pick (acres) for a second round pick. Swap a ineffec...

It's a bit of workrate, intensity but also a preseason behind him that are all needed.
But I do honestly think he will play better in a better team. Work in progress, similar to webster was last year.

good selections, great reward and fantastic run down by the coach. I like that they have spent the first part of the week on the lack of effort and spirit in the last game. It would be easy to just move on but soul searching is sometimes the best medicine. marto, I hazard a guess that bruce is just ...

Re: We will be more competitive than people think
Look it's tough. The kids will learn a lot. They are working their butts off, the skills are not great. We really miss dunstan which is crazy. Like acres, knows how to position himself and work through traffic. Use of the ball needs some polish but that is just the lift in standard. Weller has the b...

interesting isn't it dave, I work with a wce supporter and I will be doing what she did for me last night. A sounding board for a very frustrated and guttered supporter. At the end of the day we all just want our team to do their best. Never seen a supporter get upset when their team has worked thei...
