Re: Theoretically Possible
I am willing to throw in the flying pigs that just settled in the back yard. Still researching the grandmaster frog tennis achievement probability. As a fall back I am hoping the sides going for the eight have taken the odds about the Saints - everyone has a price don't they. Except Kelly. Don't wor...

Re: AFL should suspend Ross Lyon this week
Is it odd that the talk in WA is for the Eagles coach to be sacked, not Freo's. I suspect Ross the Boss will not last long into 2018, he has developed nothing and used up Sandilands and Fyfe and Freo play crap footy. I am guessing he will resign to spend more time with his family rather than wait to...

Stuck in the middle with u - but without Roo
Possibly just maudlin watching Nick today: In 2017, 3 sides passed us on the way up and two on their way down. The upsides have v. good forwards: Daniher, Hogan, Dixon (well he's just ok, but Gray crumbs and mostly he gets the ball delivered.) Saint Kilda does not have a class key forward any more, ...

Re: Is our Match Committee f#%king drunk???
I hope this in line with the thread, more than less, and it draws heavily on hindsight . Last night it struck me that Tom Lynch the red head was a Saints player. I think Membrey is better - but by how much. We (Ross Lyon) let TL leave some time ago rather than develop him. Forgive the sacrilege, but...

Re: Squad v Roos In Roo, Hickey Lonie
Does a selection committee actually convene or is there a set algorithm with fixed forward line and "interchange from" values. Personally I can't wait to find which of Hickey or Lonie won't play. Shirley not both culled, what a shock. Oh, injury concerns, keep the opposition guessing .. cu...

Re: Op Keep Mav Weller
Interesting that Moorabbin town houses have baths, very spacious. Anyway, generally it seems a disadvantage to play one short (# not height) but possibly worse to have a warm body on the field as a net negative contributor particularly if poor kicks, poor handballs and ineffective tackles interspers...

Re: Ok, Serious Coaching Thread
Zero chance of transparency to us but I'd be surprised if a review isn't done as code for assistants will move on to other opportunities, with appreciation etc. CEO mentioned the AR contract extension would be negotiated in a wider context which I take to broadly mean winning more games and not losi...

Predictions for 2018 - risk your credibility?
Low hanging fruit: - Alan R will not be on AFL360, will spend more time on individual player coaching and delegate less. - Paddy will be a contender for the Coleman medal (i.e. top 5) - Saints will beat Sydney. (conditional on Billings re-signing) Multi odds are $1.10 x $26 x $6. (I made them up, bu...

Re: The "Meltdown Phenomenon"
I suspect the majority of clubs' supporters react the same way when their team fails as badly as ours has done in 2017 and GPsHeadband's assessment of Sainters/the Saints in general is hard or me to deny. The marketing slogan on the website is building something special that no other club has (no pr...

Re: Before anyone gets their knickers in a twist
All this thread is pretty good stuff from knowledgeable supporters and is demonstrable - what I don't get is why the people employed to coach and prepare appear so unaware (incapable?). As I tend to paranoia as far as the Saints go my lingering doubt is that egos, pet theories and hobby horses (one ...

Re: Ok, Serious Coaching Thread
How about a succession plan in 2018 for 2019. AR must be getting middle of the table fatigue and cliche block. He'd be a good Director of Football for long term. Mr Bains could take his current reputation and cash in on it before there is too much of a stocktake of what he has actually contributed. ...

Re: At what point do you cease supporting, and start resenti
On reflection I think the resentment starts about now and morphs to supporting about the time of the 2018 preseason trials. And the cycle more or less repeats.

Re: Ok, Serious Coaching Thread
May I agree with you all without sounding Allanish. My theory is AR never expected to be a senior coach. He has managed to get 5 years on the gravy train. It has set him up. He is no genius and he knows it, he knows his limitations. Premiership coaches other than Malcom Blight have a unique comparat...

Mav tried to ring, dialled a Dees supporter. Gresh kept missing the key pad, Acres dropped the phone completely then fell over.

Saint Loxton - 2019, @ Chloe's bar Y & Js or the new Moorabbin bar if you prefer: if Stevens, Steele and Acres are first picks in the team that year name what you like from the top shelf. I'll buy - even though I lost on Mav for the first goal today (there was no first turnover option). Other th...

Re: List changes
Shirley, Lets go with Tom's list noting none actually played in the losing side today; perhaps we also need an attacking/marking fullback and back up ruck that can, surely Mav has to go, Shirley; is Gresham worth persevering with or fools gold, Stevens, Acres, Savage and Steele are bog standard some...
