Re: We will target Sloane at end of season!!

I have a feeling that worse comes to worse we will probably be looking at Jack Watts. Not sure I would be thrilled with that but can't see Watts staying at Melbourne. If we can get him for a third round pick I'd be thrilled. I'd probably almost be content if we got him for our second round pick. 25...

Re: Player swoop?

Given that I tend to agree with Plugger. Rather than taking free agents this year I'd be looking at end of 2016/17 2016 possibilities (age in 2020 Season) Hamish Hartlett (29) Steele Sidebottom (29) Jack Ziebell (29) 2017 possibilities (age in 2020 Season) Nathan Fyfe (28) Gary Rohan (28) Trying to ...

Re: Player swoop?

Whats wrong with Suckling? Seems good enough for the Hawks... Not really sure why we lose a top 4 pick out of it? Or do you mean we'll finish higher on the ladder plugger? I would have thought Sloane being the same age as Steven and a year younger than Armo would be a logical fit with when we are p...

Re: Player swoop?

Sloane and/or Suckling would be two to have a serious look at. Sloane would round out our midfield options nicely. I've grouped the players below and tried to be harsh. (age next year) A Graders Armitage (27) Steven (26) Sloane (26) B Graders Montagna (32) Savage (25) C Graders (Young and improving ...

Re: St Kilda announcement - Tues morning - Dare

Just another temporary major sponsor trying to get an unknown brand into the market. Reality is we are possibly 3 to 5 years away from landing a long term established brand sponsor when we improve How would you know about sponsorship, or how an organisation derives it? Why 3 to 5 years? Why not pul...

Re: Richmond inquires about Armo

If I'm Richmond I'm almost prepared to give more than pick 11. Adding one more quality inside mid would give them arguably the best midfield in the AFL. He was pick 9 for us and is entering his prime, just because we're not in the hunt for the flag doesn't mean he is worth the first trade that comes...

Re: Saint Luke

As a St Kilda supporter I want more for pick 1 at first reaction.

Then you realize the Swans probably want more for a 21 year old gun mid/fwd.

Which means to me its probably a fair trade and I'd be happy with it.

Re: Are we chasing Dangerfield?

Trengove plus pick 3. Melbourne in the box seat. Well what is pick 3? Probably McCartin or Wright. Adelaide have a decent forward line, and Petracca would probably be far more favourable to them. Still not sure I would want to do it though. Durdin + Trengove. Two SA boys. They might be happy with t...

Re: Are we chasing Dangerfield?

Would give them our first and second pick for their first pick and Danger personally. In fact I would strongly consider a direct swap. 25 next year so will be around when our list peaks. Immediately makes it easier for Jack Steven and co. Dempster Delaney Geary Gilbert Fisher Savage Riewoldt Danger ...

Re: Are we worse than Port was three years ago?

St Kilda 2012- 9 2013- 16 2014- 18 I would argue on the PA timeline we are around where they were at 2010-2011 right now. Which would mean best case we are three years away from 5th. If I had to guess our next 6 years (as it would seem the club are trying to with the road to 2020 plan) 2015- 16-18 2...

Re: 2014 List Management - Draft & Trade Discussion

I know everyones going to be yelling about not accepting other clubs scraps but does anyone think it might not be a bad idea to grab Mitch Robinson for a season or two if we can get him cheaply? He is 25 so could help fill that age gap and protect player like luke dunstan from having to use his body...

I hate when "experts" don't do their research. St Kilda did not trade picks 12 and 13 for Tom Lee and Tom Hickey! So sick of hearing we did from every news source. St Kilda traded. Pick 12 for Tom Lee, pick 24 (Nathan Wright) and pick 43 (Josh Saunders) Pick 13, 37 and 57 for Tom Hickey, p...

Re: playing some kids

Would rather see 25 year old TDL for the remaining games as he has some form in the VFL and we need to know what we're going to do with him.

Also like to see Minch ahead of those listed after a dominant game on the weekend.

Re: Hit outs

Do you think it's to you? Spinner? Players in the other position (esp mids) don't get anywhere unless they are good footballers. Ruckmen do, because of their height. Which is ok if they know how to use it to be a good footballer? But many are just tall blokes on a list. As a ruckman I take offense....

Re: Hit outs

Agree plugger. Mate the point is if you say I don't rate a player unless he is good, who can disagree with you. Yes ruckmen get games on their height, just as some midfielders will get games just because of their ability to run or tag. I can easily say I don't rate fast players unless they are good ...

If Stanley was at any other club he would be playing in the VFL ! If that means bringing in some cannon fodder to contest against, then so be it but he needs to m...
