Re: Leave Brendan Alone I say

great servant of the St Kilda Football Club. He fell into our laps in the first place and may be the gift that keeps on giving if Caddy works out. This is probably going to be a win-win deal for both parties. I wish him all the best although hope he plays no more than 99 games for the Bombers. Agre...

Re: LYON RECEPTION THIS FRIDAY NIGHT

In 50 years of watching the Saints, I can't remember ever booing an opposition player or coach, but I might have done when I was twelve. I can remember a match at Moorabbin in 1965 when we were playing North and Alan Killigrew was coaching them. He had coached us in 1956-58. In 1965, there was no q...

Re: Im not usually a lane swapper............... but

Lois, Lois, Lois...what are you doing joining the ranks of the ever increasing Perth hoon squad!!! Seriously though, very funny. I was wondering what we would all do if we happen to cross paths with Ross over here. And at appears our former coach took it in the right spirit by having a bit of a gigg...

Re: 1999 tean

Remember this game well...was played at the WACA on a wet night and we were sitting in cr@ppy metal stands at the eastern end. Thank god they don't play footy there anymore. Anyhoo...I digress...Saints came over twice in 1999...first game at Subi was the one where the umpire marked the ball!!! Secon...

Re: Ross Lyon on The Couch this Monday

I actually didn't mind Ross as coach...IMO he bought a new level of professionalism to the playing group and was a lucky bounce or two away from being a 2 time premiership coach...in which case he would have achieved immortality among the Saints faithful. It seems to me that he left us because Freo ...

Re: We can't be serious!

The Bombers are flying to this weeks game in 27 minutes and we are taking a 3 hour bus ride. Has anyone heard what type of bus it is? 27 minutes? 10 minutes to taxi to the runway, 5 minutes waiting to take off, then being told it's too wet to take off. 30 minutes later all clear to take off. 27 min...

Re: Hate to repeat it but McEvoy...

Def not a forced retirement the club woul have loved for him to go again but the injurys were mounting and taking longer to heal ... We got the absolute 100% we could out of Gardi looking back he should be very proud of how he turned his career around with us Well said Trav. Gardi's career was ever...

Re: Intra Club Pre-season Match

Interestingly at the Freo intra club match yesterday night Zac Dawson had 4goals kicked on him ... By a WAFL player invited to make up numbers !!! Zac also now has an Afro I read with interest in Saturdays paper, Ross appeared to get a little testy when one of the journo's brought up Zac's performa...

From the outside; Western Saints seem to be a very organized and well run group that enjoy each others company to watch saints games. They also turn any/all saints games in Perth into a real event. I'm not sure but I think they are our largest Interstate supporter group too !! _________________ West...

Got a flag in my 2009 membership package which had "International Supporters Group" written on it.

Now I know Perth is somewhat isolated, a long way from Melbourne and full of rabid secessionists....but not quite "International".

In the late 60s when I first became aware of this marvellous sport called Australian Football...I followed the tradition from my Mums side of the family and became a Saints fan. My Dad (a Collingwood supporter) was on his second tour of Vietnam at the time and was quite badly wounded. Sent home to r...

Yes...a very sad time. I was on the Kingsley Junior Football Club committee at that time, and we share clubrooms with the senior guys...a difficult time for all.
