Re: Parker
While Parker and Kent combined for 30 games and about that many goals, which doesn't sound too bad, the amount of hype we built around them didn't do them any favours, unless heaven forbid, they were favoured in selection due partly to it. I only ask, which potential players did those 30 games keep...

And you still pay for this rag? The Lovett issue was all that is wrong with the AFL, and Essendon What, does someone telling the truth offend your sensibilities? Yep, there's a couple of horrific trades there for sure, and I, like you no doubt have had to live every moment of it, again and again. T...

Re: TRADE: Saints picks 6 & 59 for Giants 12 & 18
Anyone who thinks Dunstan is more important to the team than Ross Must be smoking something funny The problem though is all of Ross, Dunstan and Steele in the same team. I don't know how often Hill plays directly at a centre bounce? but he would have to take Ross' position on the ground, wouldn't h...

Re: TRADE: Saints picks 6 & 59 for Giants 12 & 18
With all due respect SMS, I would NOT like to see a St Kilda side which continues to include the likes of Geary, Webster and Savage who to me are relics of an unsuccessful past and need to be moved on from plus I have serious doubts on Hind and Parker (including because I believe we have better opt...

Re: Gary Buckenara analyses St Kilda's list
What would you rather, C grade players with a good work ethic like DMac or potential A/B+ graders with a lousy work ethic - e.g., Carlisle, Gresham, Acres? I'm not sure of the correct answer here. I want work ethic for culture, which should switch thhe lazy buggers on. I think Acres just needs some...

Re: Gary Buckenara analyses St Kilda's list
He is right about us over rating the list. DMac on a 3 year extension is one of the bizarre decisions in AFL history. No A list or B+ list players Would have thought a fit Hannaberry would be B+, as well as Billings. But then again, maybe it's better to be a hard marker. Ratts would have to have so...

Re: Gary Buckenara analyses St Kilda's list
Gresh, hunter, Marshall, Steele, Ross, Membrey, Bruce.. All B graders Every one of them has had at least 1 AA game so far, and I base that on having individually influenced games to a win. But, all have limitations, which if corrected would see them at A as minimum (permanent) Consistency is our pr...

Yeah, I like him, will benefit from another season at it.
FWIW I also like Robby Young too, he definitely will benefit from this pre-season training

Re: AFL Equalisation Question
Surely it can’t be that hard to make the team receiving the free agent pay a draft pick based on the size of the contract. In the case of Lynch it would have been Richmonds first round pick. It would help but still wouldn’t stop free agents going to the top clubs. This is what I would expect to be ...

Re: Trade Period Thread
Highly doubt the Bulldogs will go for this but if Lonie is such a terrible player and a squib, why would the Bulldogs offer us pick 12 for him as part of a swap with Bruce? It doesn't make any sense. You can't have it both ways! I don’t want it both ways, he’d make a great set of steak knives on th...

Re: Hill's knee injury
This is serious, this may compromise his ability ever play again. Fortunately we are club that is prepared to take a risk with players who will never play again due to a minor injury but hey Freo you will have to accept less to get Hill off your list. How about we give a second round pick instead o...

Re: McCartin
I was really backing B.M. in this... until Spinner got involved, although there seems to be a bit in both camps. It is quite obvious that you wouldn't try and use picks 1 - 5 in the manner which B.M. suggests, but any time after then would have been really worth a look I also agree that the AFL need...

Keep Acres and I don't mind if ANY of your other visions come to fruition Why Scollop? Acres is all potential. He’s been very disappointing. Seems to me that he has some good tools but not the work ethic to take it to the next level. cheers thanks. I just would have liked seeing him for a year unde...

Re: What’s the latest on Jack Steven?
Kelly is a massive potential loss for Geelong and Steven could perhaps make up for, what,.40% percent of this loss? And that’s in the first season. Don’t blame him if he is just motivated enough by the South coast/Geelong fairytale to get him over the line motivation wise. It would be a real bummer...

Re: Another one for the lost dogs home
Hill is exactly what we need.... Recruiting is about what the list needs as much as the quality of player. Hill is more important to St Kilda than possibly another team because we lack line breakers with speed and class. Saying that that type of player is very important to any team they are rare. B...
