Re: Changes. Who comes in?

Do we have anyone who can hold down fullback? I am not happy with Browns games lately. Maybe Roo could

Also, can we not promote a rookie for the remainder of the season? If so, the selectors deserve a rocket for missing opportunities to promote rookies.

Re: Earth to tony74

Our Development coaches are
Simon McPhee
Lindsay Gilbee
Peta Searle.
There should be one Saint there at least. We should have grabbed X.Man when we had the chance last year.

Our other coaches, there are seven of them Only Hamill and Frawley have a Saints history, and Danny is only part time.

Re: Where Roo sits

And I nearly forgot, my all time favourite, Verdun.. Another true champion of the club. One of only two fullbacks to win the brownlow. And Neil Roberts is the only C.H.. to win it. I cant remember any others.

Re: Where Roo sits

I would have to agree with long Time Saint except I would have Harvs 2nd. Also Neil Roberts deserves a mention. Long Time Captain, Brownlow medalist and a 3rd. A great character as well. Not every body gets to lead an Antartic expedition.

Re: We enter 2018 without one champion player.

I go one further, I am in my late 70's,and I saw the same. Maybe in the 50;s we had periods without a true champion, but then we got Paul Dodd, Allan Morrow, Bill Stevenson, Bill Young, and we had Neil Roberts and Brian Gleeson. Then we got the Tasmanians, Baldock, Stewart. We have had our share of ...

Re: 2018 & beyond, what do we need?

Not really impressed with Brown. Would like a full back to get a possession a quarter. We need to recruit a defender in the draft if we cant get Lever, such as Naughton, or Clavarino. Let them start off in the back pocket beside Brown while they are learning their game.

Our best tap ruckman is Holmes. I think on the performance of the other two he should be played next week.

Next week against WestCoast we should have two big marking players return, Roo and Marshall. Surely they would have been handy yesterday.

Re: Players on the chopping block

Go to the draft with two top ten picks??? Didnt you see the game last night? Havent you seen Hawthorn play the last month or more??? They have beaten Adelaide in Adelaide, they have beaten the so-called form team Sydney twice. I can see them going all the way. I think Pick 10 last year would have be...

Re: Players on the chopping block

We could have a clean out of the rookie list, promote a couple, get rid of some, then move Wright, Minchington, Pierce, onto the rookie list for the remainder of their contracts. Consider sacking whoever contracted them.

I was going to say why play Holmes in the development league after 60 odd and 50 odd hitouts the previous two weeks. Maybe they should swap Holmes and Hickey around.

I am with you Dal. A couple of weeks ago he had 62 hit outs. the next week over 50. He is our best tap ruckman, and possible one of the best in the AFL. I would be playing him.

Re: Wish Jiggster well - Sydney then Adelaide!

Jigster, I have only been to one afl game in Adelaide. That was the final in 2004 that we lost by six points. A more ratbag crowd I have never found at an AFL match.. Port supporters remind me of Port Melbourne supporters in the old days. I was with my then 10 yr old grandson, and I was challenged t...

Definitely one of White or Rice for Joey.
Membrey for Roo.
Weller for Lonie. But I would rather see a young player come in for Lonie. Weller was not that impressive yesterday considering the opposition.

Re: Mr. Richardson

I just watched the GWS game. Kelly is not going to lift us very far. We need more than just Kelly.
We badly need changes to the coaching staff. If we could bring back any of Harvs, Lenny or X-Man it would lift the morale. Of the fans at least.
