Re: Ross Lyon?

I’d prefer Beveridge but if take Lyon in a heart beat after 10 years of painful mediocrity. I see Lyon reshaping the club and getting us back on track a lot like Roos did for the Demons. He hasn’t the list so my expectations are tempered but if we can get another draft year like 2021 and we attract ...

Re: Jack Hayes - ACL

Shattered for the boy and for us as a team.
He is a bloody good player and kicks goals when they should be kicked unlike many at the club at times.
2 nd ACL for the year with Coffield as well.

Re: Seb Ross

Ross was excellent he is fitter leaner and is playing his role in a more talented and better balanced mid field I loved his right foot kick to Higgins showed great decision making and awareness.
He is strong bodied and that was needed last night it was stoppages and trench warfare.

Re: Are we (finally) seeing the emergence of A graders?

Sinclair has reached elite a seriously good footballer. King reaching the next level to super star status quickly. Steele elite for 2 seasons now. That’s 3 genuine A listers for me now. Quite a few in the strong B +class level- Howard Crouch Gresham to name a few. What excites me is the 2021 draft g...

We bomb it long because we don’t have the speed or class to carry the ball with confidence break a line then find someone short. Our hand skills are average did you see some of Collingwoods handball passages?

Higgins had a bad a quarter I have seen by a player in many years in the 3 rd. Unforgivable misses. Set shot in front his ball drop was like watching a suburban ball player. Next opportunity he in space time to steady and run to the goals and score he panics and kicks the ball badly timed slightly o...

Re: AFL funding totals released

This is something that I’ve generally stopped caring about The AFL provided all manner of concessions to the expansion teams, which screwed us The bigger clubs get more home games and marquee games which makes it easier for them to grow, attract higher profile players etc The AFL need us. Let them ...

Re: Dunstan shares trade period stress in new AFL documentary

I was one of the very first to identify he was not going to be the answer at St Kilda and I was attacked by several in here who had the belief he would be an A grader and future Captain of the club!!! No tears from me he had to go I was shocked he got an extension last time. Too many deficiencies fo...

Re: Training - Friday January 21

Coffield has been told twice end of 2021 to shape up or else he was put on serious notice. Very excited by 2021 draft group I think we will look back at as a defining year in the near future. Team will be fitter next year , not sure how they got it so wrong last year which is not good, but that will...

Re: Wealthy St Kilda figure Gerry Ryan and former coach Grant Thomas endorse Larry Benge to join Saints board

I didn’t realise GT was responsible for us leaving Tassie but if he was, I’d wager he thought we were losing too many games there..and we were, weren’t we? Generally you’d take 52 premiership points, 4th and 25000 members, over 44 points, 35000 members and 10th? The 2004 game vs Port Adelaide in Ta...

Re: Lonie

Yeah, he had a pretty average year. Butler was down a bit offensively too… but defensively excellent! I think we lost speed of ball movement a bit, and the forwards pushing up high and working back to goal didn’t work as well. Lonie has ability, but he needed to impact more offensively Provides goo...

Re: St Kilda. Why so quiet?

damienc Im sorry but I believe thats a really short sighted outlook. You couldnt have chosen a worse club than Carlton's to highlight the clubs trading record. They have taken to the trade table most years and where has that got them? Granted Cerra will be a good player, but previous years they hav...

What Paddy doing right now? 🤦‍♂️ Injury troll love it. You are full of sneer. I'm not sure defending the indefensible is the smartest of moves, but your choice. These are the facts: 1) Christian Petracca is the best player in the AFL. He is an unstoppable midfield bull. 2) I'm not going to say he s...

Done well to survive this long he isn’t up to it.
Not fast enough not strong enough either he lacks the physical qualities to be a long term AFL player.
Butler Higgins with Gresham pinch hitting and Long as back up there Is no room for Lonie.

Re: Most improved in 2021?

Sinclair - exceptional this year
Max King- made huge strides this year people won’t choose him because he is already seen as a star but see Mc Cartin and Billings as examples of high picks not meeting expectations.
Webster- very good season excellent performance

I’m reading some of these posts here and scratching my head. I went hard and early on Dunstan when he was very popular by some in this forum and here he is at ...
