More respect please!
As an AFL assistant coach (and now AFLW senior coach) Peta has clearly been a trailblazer.
She has already been awarded an OAM (in 2019) for her services to our great game.

Vale Doug Parkinson
Doug Parkinson the great Australian singer passed away today.
Can anyone remember the Saints Fightback Song, as sung by Doug?
It was a ripper of a club song, especially at Moorabbin in the early 1990s. Brings back great memories.
RIP Doug

I agree skeptic. We still need to target elite midfielders. Perhaps Merrett or Kelly?

Re: Dangerous gun midfielders or onballers
Robert Harvey is definitely underrated!!! Especially when you hear things like his greatest asset was his endurance. I would say he was a little more than a guy who could run He won the footy, was one touch, was creative, elite handballer, rarely missed a target by foot, was powerful, strong and su...

Re: Dangerous gun midfielders or onballers
Dangerous mids are not just ones that kick goals, it’s more the mids that create play to set up or score goals. Rob Harvey was asked about why he didn’t kick to many His answer was simple Why would I have a shot from 45 on the run when I can pass it to the best player in the team who can have a set...

Re: Inject any past Saint into the current top 22
Absolutely skeptic.
Winmar seemed to usually play at either half forward or wing. Would have been nice to to see him more in the midfield and perhaps resting up forward.
Would love him in our current top 22!

Dangerous gun midfielders or onballers
In my 55 years of following the saints I cannot recall any gun mid or onballers who are really scary matchups when moved forward on a big stage. By this I mean dusty types (best I've ever known), danger to a far lesser extent, big Nick, KB, lethal and look away now...- jarmen. Stewart, no. Smithie, ...

You shouldn't trust my judgement Rocket.
I only provide psychological services.
Besides, my brother has a mental illness.
He knows nothing about footy.

Re: Rob Harvey in the running for head coach role
We need someone who's gonna shake up the place. Put a rocket up some of the young blokes. Is that Harves? Don't know. Do prefer him -- massively -- to Scott and Knights, though. "shake up the place"... I agree, some of the young blokes might need a rocket. This doesn't always work however...

A friendly Darrel Baldock informed me at Princes Park 30 years ago, that Harvey would win a Brownlow medal one day.
Within nine years or so he had won two Brownlows!
Thanks Jaxons for posting.

Re: Whispers in the sky
Says Sirengate cost us the double chance that year. The club had QCs lined up saying we had a case, but then We finished 4th. How did it cost us the double chance?? May have cost us a home final but we beat the crows in the 1st final anyway. GT spinning BS again I think. Sirengate did cost us the do...

Re: Brad Scott to be announced as Saints coach in August
I too would like Banger to be appointed if we can't get Clarkson. Banger may not be great with a laptop presentation or the most articulate in front of the media. He is a highly driven immensely determined guy however who has served a long enough apprenticeship. I wouldn't underestimate Banger. I ag...

Re: Saints need stand alone VFL side
Our plan to build a stand alone VFL team was abandoned right around the time that our bid for an AFL women's team was announced. The official line is that the two decisions are unrelated, but that is clearly not true. We poured many of our limited resources into the women's team and the men's team ...

Milney is easily an A grader in my opinion.
One of the best small forwards ever!

Re: It mostly comes down to our midfield
I agree. We urgently need elite midfielders with exceptional disposal skills. We also need class fowards as a matter of priority. If you compare our forward line to previous forward lines this becomes even clearer. In 2004 we had the following forwards (in order of importance IMO): Gehrig (A grader)...
