Re: Gresham for Bergman

None of those guys have really impressed in the twos I was happy when we got them Underwhelmed after watching them Adams and Connolly are busts I agree. Van Es is looking like a poor man's Maguire. Haven't seen Adams do much. I'll give Keeler a leave pass because he's only a few games in. Heath wil...

Re: How 17 clubs missed chance to snare Saints gun

Back to Mitch Owens. SEN put this out about him. Starts at 7:40 or 8:40 for Owens. Apparently playing like Fyfe in his Brownlow year. Champion Data expert believes should make the All Australian squad. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=_5Eu5a2kyJA WOW! bloody amazing. can't wait for him and Phillipou t...

Re: RTB on SEN this morning

Can't believe we are sitting 5th with all the injuries we've had and the list we have. Knocking on the top 4. Brisbane are on the ropes and if we're good enough we'll displace them. A real credit to Ross and the whole club. In fact, the players have got a real opportunity to go deep this year whilst...

Re: JB’s future at Moorabbin

His trade value has diminished so much that it's not worth trading him out. We should have done it 4-5 years ago.

Best to retain him now and re-train him into the new game plan like they are doing with Windy.

JB will come in at some stage.

Re: Maybe we’re not attacking enough

I know what you're saying. We actually look like a bottom 6 team the way we're playing. But we're 5th on the ladder. Imagine when we actually get it all together and it clicks. Watch out comp. It's a testament to the players and coaches that we've won 7/11 playing that way.

Re: Onfield leadership

If Higgins takes a simple chest mark we’d be 19 points up with 10 minutes to play and the Hawks would have no momentum and we wouldn’t be having this conversation. In one way though, even though it’s painful to lose, it’s good for Ross to sort out the wheat from the chaff. Unpredictable players like...

Re: Does king walk straight in?

Sharman didn't get a free ride. He slogged out the pre-season and toiled in the 2's.

Unlike Sharman, King is a Lamborghini and he's a definite part of the next premiership push. And you don't risk crashing a lambo in the VFL.

Re: Does king walk straight in?

If you've listened to Lyon's press conference last night and throughout the past couple of months, he doesn't fawn over King and King will need to play to the team's system. He's not getting a free ride. I think ultimately he will come straight in however Lyon is letting him know who the boss is and...

Re: Tom DeKonning

1. Heard on the radio he's #1 for hitouts to advantage. 2. We get an extra tall forward because he and Marshall will rotate between forward and ruck. 3. Marshall is 27 yrs old, so in 4 years' time when Keller and Moose are AFL ready, Marshall will be hitting twilight years. 4. De Koning is only 23 y...

Jack Hayes is listed as 10-12 weeks. He got a 2 yr contract last year, so I think at the end of the season, he goes back to SA. A bit like Jono Marsh, and before that, Tom Lee. Just cannot find a spot for him in the team, I don't know where he plays. We have King, Skunk, Hammer, Pou, Owens as the t...

Re: Nick Coffield - injured, again 🙄

He is definitely part of the future. I would be very upset to see him go to another team. I think they should just give him a 2-year contract from now so that he can put his mind at ease and focus on rehab. We've seen enough to know that he's part of our best defensive unit. Could be time to fly him...

Re: Jack Steele recruitment article HS 20/4

In fairness to Richo, tagging is a great way to learn from the greats and get more of the ball yourself. Windy is learning that right now but it doesn't make Lyon a dud.

And don't go too early with Byrnes as he may get overlooked by Lyon aswell :)

Re: Changes v paper baggers

We only lost by 6 points against very good opposition. Yes, some players had bad games, but they have enough points in the bank from the first 4 rounds to have another go. Changes should be minimal. Out: Caminiti (suspended), Byrnes (omitted) In: Membrey, Steele Membrey will need to play tall. Campb...

Re: Saints are the real deal

If Owens dropped his shoulders and gets a Selwood speciality 'too high' with 5 seconds left, it could have been a draw.

We are the 'real deal' for commitment and game plan. Just need some more talent that can execute under pressure.

Re: We can't wait. Lyon on Filth game.

At 1.88m, Membrey is too short for the Cordy role. Cordy will be replaced by King. King and Cheeto need to be the backup rucks
When Marshall rests.

I think Membrey should be named on the HFF but should play a wingman’s role exactly like Wood, just give him the license to run up and down.

Re: Changes Rnd 3

I think we need to persist with Byrnes. He's 21, played 30 games and will form part of the next generation of youth. Rd1 he had 27 disposals. Round 2 only 8 disposals but not sure if he had a specific role to play. I remember him centering the ball into the corridor and hitting someone on the chest ...

Re: Changes Rnd 3

I think it's pretty straight forward. Windy takes Steele's role and Bytel comes in as the sub. Everyone else stays in the same position. Although I would love to see them bombing to someone taller than Higgins 1.77m at the top of the square, but I think this not a personnel issue but a strategy/setu...

Just to keep this thread intact before it gets derailed by a troll, I'm a big fan of the structure that Campbell would bring to the table. Strong body, mature, work horse, would provide an honest contest as a tall forward and would provide ruck relief (although I'm not that impressed with his ruckwo...
