Re: Sam Flanders: potential trade target?

There is talk Dusty Martin is heading to GCS with Hardwick & Flanders will be part of that deal. Hopefully not, I am sick of being gazumped by the big clubs.

Re: Sam Flanders: potential trade target?

They will want next years first rounder They already have an arsenal of later picks What they will do is trade their pick 5 for a future They need the points this year, so any trade would involve picks from this year. After seeing this years draft crop at the Nationals, I would be happy to give up ...

Flanders is a definite yes!

I doubt Parish leaves Essendon but if he was interested we should be talking to him $$$.

Re: Do we need to extend Lyons contract now?

I get the impression he doesnt want to coach any longer than his current contract. Plus Im thinking he is keen to transition the job to one of his assistants. Hopefully he hands over as a grand final winning coach.

Re: Reality

We have not been out of the eight all year. Yep, I agree we probably won’t last there but honestly how many of you after Round 21 would have thought that. We have a group of new coaches and a new game plan. There will be a turnover of players at season end as the coaching panel mould the squad to i...

Re: is Clark too slow?

He is slow but has other worthy traits. If he can improve his dynamic movements and strength he could be anything. The question is whether he is prepared to do the extea work to get the best out of his game? Only the club will know that.

Re: Sandy Vs Box Hill Match Report

Good write up TheGreatZacsby, but I think you are being tough on McLennan given where he has come from this year. Before his injury, the preseason training watchers were talking him up in the intra club scratch games. I think we need to give them more than 2 or 3 games before we write players off. I...

Re: King comparisons

Caminiti will also become the ace in our forward line when he matures. He is 19 yo and his attack on the footy in the air and pressure for a player his size are incredible. Then we see glimpses from Isaac Keeler and I think thats our 3 x key forwards of the future. Keeler to play the tall forward/ru...

Its nice to have the site back on line!

Hopefully its inline with the clubs form, as they played 2 x blinding quarters yesterday and began to look like the side they did earlier in the year. Play 4 similiar quarters this week and we will set the Blue Baggers back with the chasing pack.

It marvellous what opportunity and belief can do for players, he got his opportunities due to our injuries and continues to improve. He is obviously not frightened to do the work and by all accounts could become a future leader at the club. A great result for the young fella - congrats Ryan!

Re: Did I hear Leigh Matthew say

You are half right/wrong BM. Good coaches can help a great team challenge or win flags, poor coaches can make good teams look worse. The Gold Coast and Collingwood are good examples of what decent coaches can do. GCS with their list they should have been playing finals for the past couple of years. ...

SEN reporting that Geelong are circling Bailey Smith. At 22 years of age, I would've thought his run and clearance work is the point of difference our midfield is crying out for. Given we will clear $1.4Million a year if Gresham and Billings leave, we would have more than ample cap room available t...

A great summation cwrcyn. Keeler is a strong mark leading up at the ball but like most kids he gets man handled when sitting waiting for it. Speed is what both Peris & Hotton have in spades, thats something the AFL team needs. Hotton was said to be one of the best stoppage clearance players in h...

With huge respect to the way he has prepared and presented this year, the only way Campbell gets a game is dead mans boots. Bytel also depth at this point. About 5 weeks ago was the "if not now, when?" moment for both of them, sadly. I totally agree Campbell is a great servant, but he is ...

Max is like watching a spagetti man run around, he is very lose limbed. I know the game requires players to cover more ground now, but Max needs to add 15kgs of muscle to his frame to protect himself from future issues. Didn't Lyon challenge our entire list to drop weight and improve their running. ...

Then daylight to old mate Dougal….
Barrass is on a huge contract big $$$ and WCE would want a 1st round pick for a 27 turning 28yo. He is not an immediate list need - we need midfielders thats where our dollars and any draft capital should be directed.

Honestly how much bad luck can we have with these repetitive injuries. McKenzie was in career best form before breaking down, Hannebrey would still be playing if his body held up, McCartin concussion, Koby Stevens would possibly still be playing and the list goes on.

Re: Ross Lyon quote: "Our midfield is spluttering."

Is it worth giving Stocker a run thru the midfield? The reason he got delisted from Carlton (according to most people) is because he didn’t have the fitness and endurance to play midfield. They already had a wealth of half back flankers with Docherty, Saad, Zac Williams and this year they’re also p...
