Re: Jack Sinclair No 1 Player

When they say against expectations. They refer to the average performance of someone playing the same role/position not their own benchmark. It is their way of making sure it isn't another midfielder biased rating system/award. That makes a lot more sense than what others are saying. How do you mea...

Re: Jack Sinclair No 1 Player

StPeter, I don't think Sincs should be number 1 player ahead of some of the names on that list. Yes he's had another terrific year, but surely we can appreciate the work of other players (regardless of what colour jumper they're wearing). Did you watch The Bont last night? As far as Saints fans who...

Re: Jack Sinclair No 1 Player

Champion Data’s new ratings system works by analysing how far above or below expectation players have performed per 100 minutes Maybe Champion Data need to to raise their expectations 8-) We see him each week. We expect a certain ‘level’ from him. The same with the coaches. They’ve given votes in t...

Re: Fans biggest misses

I was quite a fan of both Terry Milera and Ahmed Saad who came to us via a trade with GWS.

I was disappointed neither had long careers with us. However I guess we have been compensated somewhat in drafting NWM, Milera's Step-Son who has a long career ahead of him with the Saints.

Re: Saints v blues team changes

Great to see Sharman and Caminiti selected as playing this week against Carlton despite all the following medium to tall forwards (who have played that position this year) available-

Phillipou, Cordy, Owens,( all selected) and arguably King, Membrey, Holmes( returning from injury)

Jacks Back wrote: Thu 03 Aug 2023 10:10pm You'd think King is straight in but he's named on the extended bench while Hill is straight in. King mustn't be ready yet. Membrey and Hayes are no where near it.
RTB Says KING only needs to get through training tomorrow(Friday) to be selected.

Re: Fans biggest misses

Dan McKenzie was another I admit to getting it wrong as with many others on this forum.

It is just unfortunate that he was struck down by long-term injury when he showed us what he was capable of.

I can beat everyone I honestly thought Robert Harvey just didn’t quite have it early doors There ya go. I knew I could win something. tony lockett was a fat bogan that wouldn't see out a season! I must admit also to thinking this about Lockett but soon changed my tune. My reserved seat at Moorabbin...

Re: Fans biggest misses

I will admit to thinking Sinclair would become nothing more than a good ordinary player. I also thought Glen Coghlan and Daniel Healy were going to be stars of the game. I think everyone is in the same boat with sincs He Improved incredibly quickly Not me or Champion data. I have sung his praises s...

Re: Fans biggest misses

Arryn Siposs was a player I thought could be anything with his impressive first few games, a rising star nomination, but he only lasted for two seasons. Jack Sinclair should be nominated by plenty here who wrote him off. I am pleased to say I wasn't one of them. Seb Ross was a player I changed my op...

Re: Ladder predictor

We are irrelevant to most of the footy media and fraternity. I watched several of the programs post last week's round like On the Couch and AFL 360 and St Kilda didn't rate a mention. Every other team in the running for finals, even those with virtually no chance, were talked up. Caroline Wilson, wh...

Re: Sandy v Filth

How’s Butler going? Butler is playing in the ones mate. I don’t know where you got the idea he was being managed from. Stocker and Billings also held over for tonight. Sandringham and Saints disadvantaged yet again by needing to keep three players out of their VFL game because of fixturing and late...

Re: Kudos Cooper Sharman

He has always seemed to me to be an natural forward, but over the past 2 years he has been played in just about every other position.

It has seemed crazy to me that this year, when we have had King and Membrey out for most matches, that he hasn't been tried as a forward more often.

Re: Sinclair to the midfield

I can see why the move was made- our best player and user of the ball. Has done well when used there in bursts. However I agree that it doesn't seem to work as well when he starts mid-field and plays there most of the game. Certainly I thought today was his poorest performance in a couple of years b...

Bad Timing

Today's loss to GCS was a shocker but we really have been very unlucky with the way the fixture has turned against us this season. Every week we seem to come up against a club which has a huge reason for winning and turning it around with lots of media attention. Be it just having a week of turmoil(...
