Re: Things that really piss me off.
What really sh!ts me is when there’s talk of Ben King coming to the Saints all the flogs in the media and at the AFL start saying how important it is for the game that GC re-sign all their young talent…despite the fact that all the big Melbourne clubs have already pillaged GC and GWS’ lists…but now ...

Re: Max Gawn
A couple of things I noticed. Danger and Selwood were on the bench for a long time and late in the last quarter considering the circumstances…pretty big screw by the Geelong bench Rhys had a massive brain fade not going with Max. He’d played well, but that will haunt him. Geelong may have just dropp...

Re: With 8:24 left in the last...
I don’t blame him. Why would you give it to Ross who would most likely turn it over.
Ross had given Coff a spray earlier for a poor effort that lead to a Swans goal.
The spray was warranted, but I’d struggle to be told what to do by Ross.

Re: I think Ratts is cooked…
I think the problem for Ratts is that apart from Steel our leadership group were not up to. The best teams generaly have the best leaders. It’s hard to coach when your best leaders aren’t on the park and the ones you have out there regularly make skill and decision errors. Guys like Ross and Membrey...

Zone defence is dead.
We haven’t got the memo yet. The new man on the mark rule has put an end to it. The rule was announced in November 2020. It appears we didn’t think it would change the game much. It appears we’ve just followed on with what we did last year. Our forward entries are far too predictable for opposition ...

Re: More NGA news
The TAC selection and talent programe is a farce. These recruiters and talent scouts need to go watch games rather than sit around private schools and big name suburban clubs. I guess the gun athletes in most sports and footballers don’t get “general excellence” scholarships to the top end schools ...

Re: 2nd oldest list / oldest list
We do have a few old guys who we need to contend, when they retire it be a problem if we don’t have a replacement. That said we do have a lot of talent who are in the 50-150 games. I recon the list is quite balanced as 3-4 of the old blokes that tip the scales in age are pretty expendable. Not an is...

Re: Pre Season Training
Have a look at the games. His balancing arm doesn’t extend out, which puts him off balance at the point of contact. The most reliable kicks are all slightly different in action, but have the key factors of a good ball drop and balance in common. The thing that may account for King leaning back too f...

Re: Pre Season Training
King and Coff pic are almost exactly at the same point of their kicking action, yet Kingy's balancing arm is not outstretched. Hilly's pic is a frame earlier in the action but you can see that his arm is heading outwards. I've been looking at the replays all season. It's a pretty consistent flaw in ...

Re: Banger
In order to be an effective leader of any kind you need to be a good communicator.... An AFL senior coach needs to be an elite communicator these days, this attribute is the most important part of the job. Communication is not Bangers strong suit...from what I understand he ticks all the other boxes.

We dodged a bullet with Treloar... ...got it from a very reliable source that he was a nightmare in the hub this year. the words used were "he is uncoachable". Apart from freeing up cap space, the Pies were concerned that if Treloar was that bad in lockdown, he may not deal well with bein...

Re: Now that Jack Higgins is a Saint.....
I’d be suprised if we get Treloar based on the reasons I’m hearing why the Pies want him out. Money isn’t the main reason.
‘Uncoachable’ is what I’m hearing.
I recon that’s why we’ve pulled out.

Re: Lonie potentially to Bulldogs 7 news
My main issue with Lonie is that he cannot compete one on one in the air. I know his main role is to contest at ground level, and apply fwd pressure, but it's a no contest once the ball is in the air. Most of the best small fwds can at least bring the ball to ground when in a one on one. So once you...

Re: Dangerfield cleared
It’s not the 1980’s. You used to be able to clean someone up with a bump. You used to be allowed to protect yourself with your knee and your foot. You used to be allowed to come back on the ground after being knocked out. You used to be allowed to square up. The head is apparently sacrosanct now, un...
