What a load of tosh. Cox, Kerr and Embley were non-existent last year. Natanui and Kennedy have another few ks on the clock. Nicoski is playing for his career. Darling is what we all hoped Kosi would be. It has nothing, nothing , to do with tanking or bottoming out. PS Shuey isn't a bad player either.

It would be wrong to criticise the effort put in by the players on the day. They are trying their guts out, I am sure. The remnants of our forward defence have made it difficult for most sides to give us a caning most weeks, with the exception of two. Essedon (only one n? really? you ignorant Wester...

Peake's best game for us, IMHO, was the qualifying final against Geelong last year. Having said that I thought yesterday's game was a fantastic, career on the line, effort by him. Not one paper put him among our best players. BOG, apparently, was determined by stats. Joey certainly had 'em. It's a p...

The secret of the gameplan lasted about 15 seconds. It took a while for the other teams to counter it. By the time Max and Ball left, it was ancient history.

If our forwards could kick for sh1te it wouldn't have mattered.

I still believe our best chance was in 04. The Power had a very lucky win after we had them on toast and the Lions were clearly sore on GF day even though had the wood on us in that time.

Last year's effort was very brave but, undoubtedly the best team we've fielded was 09.

I don't think Joey will look back on it as his proudest moment.

BUT

If the week stands, the next time it happens, there better be some consistency.

FAT CHANCE with the kangaroo court, lezzie, mumbo-jumbo MRP.

Fair dinkum, the AFL is as soft as butter these days.

Diver Dan would struggle to get a kick these days.

Having said that, if he did, he was a dead-eye Dick.

As a commentator, he's just a dick!

I have been a member (although the bungling membership department refuses to acknowledge it) from 1957-65 and 1978- present. I lived overseas in the middle years and my Dad and I missed the one flag. I have stood in the rain at Moorabbin and watched us be shat upon by real teams while my Saints batt...

All-Australian pretender

Has there ever been a more over-rated pretender than our number 11? Can't get the hard ball and can't use it if an easy disposal comes his way. I know the whole team is playing poorly but it would be up to an All-Australian to give a yelp, one would have thought. Other "all-Australian" pre...

Feverish speculation about this kid who, at best, is just a player, proves how bad our drafting has been in recent years.

I wish him and us all the best but I don't see him as an A grader. Pleased to be proven wrong, as we need all the fresh blood we can get - right now.

Banger is a club champion - I'm not sure his history as a player qualifies him to coach Auskick.

His effort with our midfield being smashed every week is a bit of a worry don't you think?

Much of the OP is true, the five in the gun deserve scrutiny. I wonder what we would be saying of the Pois' lesser lights if Swan, Pendlebury, Shaw, Dawes, Didak et al had the starts to the season that Montagna, Goddard, Dal Santo, Gilbert, Gram and Riewoldt have had. Apologies to Roo here, because ...

Contract extension? Let's see some sustained form before we dream he's even going to make it as a regular player. I hope he does, especially now, but I'm not convinced. I wouldn't mention him in the same breath as our rightful captain but he did a whole lot better than some of our past, over-rated A...

To pose a possible answer to my own question, I would not dismiss Ray as a forward option. I would. He can take an overhead grab, but he is a terrible kick. We have enough inaccurate forwards already, not to mention our midfield, with the exceptions of BJ and, occasionally Dal, if he's getting a sn...

We already have forwards who can't kick for sh!t, including our captain, why would we get another, who mightn't even be able to play consistently?
