Re: Review sub committee

With the upcoming club review, I would love to see a sub committee formed comprising of Del Santo Rooey, Montagna and Goddard. These guys obviously have the saints connection but also they watch a lot of footy through their media roles & are accross all things football. Would be good but a litt...

Re: Pyss off Lloyd ya flog

"he currently works with an elite, forward and a renowned biomechanical kicking expert." The question is, can either of these two kick as well as Matthew Lloyd? If the answer is no, and I suspect it is because Lloyd was a magnificent kick of the football, one of the best ever, then then R...

Re: The Never Ending Story

What I have noticed over the years is that the difference between the great players and the rest, I'd the ability to execute skills under extreme pressure i.e. finals or critical moments in games. Need to train short, high intensity sessions, to mimic extreme pressure, quick decision making, perform...

Re: Pyss off Lloyd ya flog

A few thoughts. Anyone that thinks what Ratts says in public is the same as behind closed doors is a little naive. First instinct to protect and support the player , And not add to the pressure by keeping it indoors is paramount. Saints would give access to the best, he currently works with an elite...

Re: He's Only 22

I, like every other Saints supporter was terribly disappointed in King's chronic waywardness on Friday night, and yes, if he'd kicked straight St Kilda would probably have won that game. But I think it's quite unfair to unload our frustrations out on the young fella, instead we should sympathise be...

Is he a midfielder? Don’t know much about him. Fill us in.

Prefer not to unless it’s unavoidable as I do think NWM is going to be very good. But perhaps Sinn is as well.
Very punny.

Re: Are we so used to failure…

I believe we have institutionalised mediocrity and that is reinforced by the current group of players, coaches and administration. I think why so many here are attached to the GT-era was because it was the first time in our history that we matched a desire to win with a belief that we could author ...

Dominated for much of the game but didn't put it on the scoreboard. Lots to like and lots to work on. Many positives.

"tear us a new one" Maybe SE was looking to post this opinion in The Pride Round thread Sorry...I like to shock and be crude at times  Speaking of Pride Round they want to introduce it for the rugbah league...I don't think Israel Folau would approve https://www.abc.net.au/news/20...

Great to see him do well in an important role. If Kelly gets off the chain, we would've been in trouble.
Before WC game, he was outside best 22, but just gets so much better with every game

Watch the replay, our Captain threw the towel in. I hope the media picks up on it. f****** rubbish. and beneath you champ. Actually, the opposite. Re: Positives

You make a really good point Crossy66, both Jordan Lewis going to Melbourne and Luke Hodge plus Grant Birchall to Brisbane have helped both those clubs to turn their fortunes around significantly. The lack of elite on-field leadership has been a major problem at St Kilda for a long time and has bee...

Biggest issue is that the players have lost belief. They have lost confidence, leading to frustration and almost giving up the fight. At the game, you could feel the life get sucked out of them after the Marshall turnover and definately the Battle one. This is where onfield leadership has to kick i...

Re: We gotta hit the draft, hard

Agree on getting rid of some players and clearing the cap. Kent is probably gone Hanneberry gone Billings... Set him free to free up cap. Get another forward and keep Membrey in the backline. He will be AA there. Trade out Battle - he has value now Free up cap for Taranto Trading Battle would be a ...

What last night proved is that Dougal is currently our best option for fullback, which is why we badly need to recruit another tall defender. Harris Andrews and or Ben McKay say hello Any reason you think they may be available, or that their respective clubs don't want them? I have no idea if they ...

Re: The non holding the ball free

I don't subscribe to the saints umpire bias, but no question the umpiring had a major impact on the game. I just think the AFL is becoming unwatchable due to over officiating, new rules etc. So many examples over so many games. Then there is the Ginnivan thing, ruck lotto, sometimes dissent, sometim...

Re: Dougal Howard appreciation thread

Without Dougal we were hopelessly undersized down back.
Battle has been very good for a while now. We also missed an in form Paton.
Joyce and Highmore couldn't take the next step, add in Brad hill who is flakey as a defender and we were too easy to score against
