Re: 2018 & beyond, what do we need?

DEFENCE 1) 1x more key back (either best available to us in draft or through a trade) as cover for Brown and Carlisle. Goddard will hopefully come on next year and be Brown's replacement eventually though. Marshall may fit that bill. No need for more bp's and hb's. We are overloaded with them. MIDFI...

Re: Brandon White

Only his 2nd year and he has played 2 games of AFL footballer. White will be good but he needs time like any person in life that is in the beginnings of a career. He will develop like many before him.

Same for Gresh, Paddy, Goddard, etc.

Re: A well coached team

Richo will not get sacked and nor should he this year. If we have a s##t year next year and things turn sour then the club should look at it.

Re: Massive 2 weeks for Saints

Actually correction.
We beat the Eagles next week and Melbourne loses to GWS, Saints will be on 40 points with Melbourne. We beat Melbourne in 2 weeks then we'll be game clear of Melbourne.

Essendon thumps the Dogs tomorrow then we'll go above the Dogs on percentage.

Massive 2 weeks for Saints

Looking at the potential ladder after tomorrow, our draw and specifically the other teams around us for the next 4 weeks...8th spot is probably the only slim chance we have of making the finals. That is a very slim chance. Beat West Coast next week and we'll be even on points with them (assuming the...

Re: WHO IS RESPONSIBLE?

Let's be serious. The club in every dapartment from the list to members is streaks and streaks ahead of where it was 3-5 years ago. Plus returning to a new Moorabbin next year is massive. I think we're at about the same point as we were last year..depends on how these last 4 games go though. Our dra...

Re: Well done Saints on a 4 Quarter Crack!

Top effort even though they never should have lost in the end. Port were very lucky. Apparantly we fielded the 2nd youngest side out of any team this round. Add that fact plus we played a side that sits in 4th away from home. This is after we travelled to Sydney only 7 days back and played the form ...

Oh crap. Didn't realise some of these guys are contracted. Guess there will be a couple traded out or put on the rookie list.

Players on the chopping block

Any ideas on who is facing the cut for 2018? # N. Wright (has a crack but has never been a regular, can't see him in a finals side) # L. Pierce or T. Hickey or J. Holmes (one or two of these rucks are going due Marshall getting promoted next year....surely) # J. Lonie (50/50 on him....he might get 1...

Re: A couple of the whipping boys were ok

Dunstan was our best by a mile. He will get better and should be part of the engine room. He played well last night against the best midfield in the comp and away from home. Savage has been good since he has come back in. At least he has great foot skills and can kick to another player most of the t...

Of course. We need 2 x gun midfielders plus a good small permanent forward.

Re: Depth of list 2017 vs 2009/2010

We desperately need a class above the rest fp or hff. Billings is it at the moment. Not convinced Meatball or Lonie are going to kick 30 or 40 goals per year. Gresham is good but he will become an onballer soon.

Devon Smith from GWS would be a great pickup.

Depth of list 2017 vs 2009/2010

Comparing the lists between now and then I actually believe our list depth is better in 2017 and we have created a very even playing list in regards to ability. Our bottom rung players today and at Sandi are much better than what we had in 09/10. They're also much younger with better potential so we...

Re: Dear paddy bashers

Keep Paddy.

He's only in his 3rd year.
Supporters need to take a look at Ross, Stevens, Armitage, etc. It can take 4-6 years for a player to come on, especially a big young kid (which is still what he is).

Gary Rohan to Saints 2018

Rumour has it that Saints are interested in Gary Rohan for 2018. Only 26 years old and a Vic boy from Geelong area. We are in desperate need of breakneck midfield speed to complement all these inside mids we now have after we added K. Stevens and J. Steele last trade period. He reminds of Arces a bi...

Caro is definitely part of the worst football show in history though...that one that runs on Ch9 at 9.50pm on a Monday night. I can't even remember its name its that bad.

Absolute garbage. You watch it for an hour and gain nothing from it. They all just talk utter BS.

Re: Is roo worth a list spot

Yes, don't let Nick leave on a bad note. It wouldn't be a good look for the club and he's done more than any other player in the Saints history. He should be on the list as a player/mentor/coach for next year. Its honestly time for Bruce, Membrey and McCartin to finally take over the forward line if...
